A GREAT DAY FOR LEONARD

Post by PanCogito »

To all who came to this forum trying to organize “two minutes of hate” (The horrible thing about the Two Minutes Hate was not that one was obliged to act a part, but that it was impossible to avoid joining in.-G. Orwell, 1984) – go somewhere else to find your dark fulfillment and good luck. I did not believe that Leonard is involved in all that ticket scalping scam. I did not believe that Leonard is greedy because he lost his retirement. I did not believe in all that. Why? Because I know, I know who he is and it just does not hold up and besides that I would not be able even listen to his music, read his poetry not to mention concerts with him with that entire bad luggage. So, cheer up!
Peace!!!!!
kind regards -דרישת שלום

You needed to post this a week ago. This was truly a dark place.

Yes, there was some ugliness, but look: in most web forums once the hate is ignited it burns like a brush-fire until threads are locked, restrictions are imposed and with time tempers cool and fights are forgotten. But not here! Just in case you have missed this thread: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=14028 please read it.

The foul-mouthed "hater" (who later turned out to be a frustrated individual down on their luck) was met with mostly sympathy and understanding and very quickly the hate faded away and was replaced with understanding and compassion.

It started with mwaldman, was picked up by Myra, Greg Ross, and sue7 and then mirka sealed the deal with a magnificent act of kindness.
I have never seen anything like this in any other web forum. Clearly, there is a group of people here who not only listen to the music and the poetry of Leonard Cohen, but also let it into their lives.

I have only been active in this forum for a very short while, but I am proud to be (newly) associated with these people.

And one last thing (just in case Jarkko is reading this...) despite the "no signings" policy for the tour, if there is one signed book or CD out there to be had, I think it should go to mirka.

Well thank you, brightnow  :)
I would be equally pleased if I could get the clip of the Charlottetown concert with LC thanking me by name from the stage (yes, it really happened at one of the first concerts of the tour  ):

It's been almost a year, I haven't lost hope yet...

LC got money stolen from him, and that ultimately made of lot of people happy.
Hesperides expressed his frustration, and got rewarded with a free ticket.
Isn't life strange and unpredictable ...?

'Love's the only engine of survival' – for the one giving it and for the one getting it.

Mirka, that was a beautiful thing you did.

The saying, 'actions speak louder then words', springs to mind. It's nice to be reminded of how kind people can be to each other.
