"I'm Your Man" a tribute

This is dedicated to Lizzy. I wrote it in March 2007 and deleted it from the poetry section.
Alot has happened since then including amazing and unexpected tours.

"I'm Your Man"
(a parody)
If you want a poet, I'll compose some steamy lines for you.
And before you know it, I will have to shut my blinds for you.
If you want a dancer, move in close
or laugh at my wry jokes,
You know you can.
I'm your man.

If you want to take a trip to Greece
I will fly with you
If you want to fight a war for peace
I will die for you.
If you want me to tear off all your clothes
or send a long stem rose,
Here I stand,
I'm your man.

Ah, the night's too short, no time to court,
imaginations must be fed.
I've been rehearsing lines to make you mine
and take you to my bed.
Ah, but a man never got a woman hot
not by giving her his keys
Or I'd take your groceries in
admire your designer clothes,
adore you while you doze
and say please (please)
I'm your man.

If you are in the midst of grave despair
There are stories I can share,
I'd write about your hair
and your underwear
I'm your man.

If you want to meditate a moment down the road,
I will pray with you
And if you want to drink red wine and smoke
I will play with you.
If you want to beat me if I sleep
Or hear song that make you weep
You know you can,
I'm your man.

I'll buy bracelets for your wrist,
brush your hair for you,
for me to brush your hair for you,
Want me to plant a secret kiss
I will take care of you.
If you want to read a poem that's x-rated
about beauty that has faded,
(or) if you want to practice zen,
I'll introduce you to my friend,
You know you can,
I'm your man.

Ha. Thanks, Jill . When I saw your title and that it was you who'd written it, I looked forward to reading it. Sure didn't expect to find it was dedicated to me, though . WoW .

It actually seems less a parody now and, more, simply a reworking of the original .

And, yes, it really was amazing, wasn't it ! Will you be going to any more?
