Northern Ireland

Post by john4efc »

As far as I’m aware Leonard has never played in Belfast, and for obvious reasons. However, the troubles are over and Belfast has recently been named in the top 10 cities to visit in the world! Isn’t it time Leonard played in Belfast?

I lived in Belfast for 3 years up till last may and I would have loved to have more major concerts in the area. Serious lack of big acts going through N. Ireland. Amazing city though. I Miss like it's home. Where did it make the top 10 cities to visit in the world?

nice little article. I live in Seattle, WA (USA) now but grew up near Boston. I did an MA in belfast and ended up staying around because I just loved it. I ran an open mic night at Lavery's on Wed nights for a couple years as well that's still going on! Go down and say hi to my friend Graham who's running it now. Always a good time there

I just moved back to NI after 8 years in Canada so I'll have to call into Lavery's again some night for a pint :D Did you ever go to see any of the local Belfast bands? Have you heard of Oppenheimer or Olympic Lifts?

Anyway if Leonard comes to Belfast I guess the Odyssey is the most likely venue.

I have not head of either of those two bands but I was friends with a few local bands (small time) like Mantic, Tapasia, Cafe Cubana and some others. I actually played in an acoustic Tool/funk cover band while I lived there called "Armando P". The rest of the band is still together with a new guitarist and are now called "House of Shards". Mainly a Lavery's middle bar band though. I do miss that town
