Leonard in San Diego

Post by candacegold »

The devoted fans of Leonard Cohen are tickled pink that he is coming to our "little city"
here in San Diego, California. What a blessing that is. Thank you Leonard! We love you.

jarrkko. Help Please: Who is the ticket seller in San Diego?

Post by BKoffman »

I was checking the seating plan and discovered Ticketmaster does not have the LC concert listed in its upcoming sales. Are we sure Ticketmaster is handling the sale in San Diego?

Thank you

***Absolutely sure. Ticketmaster is adding shows one by one, everything will be Ok before the presale starts tomorrow. / Jarkko***

Got my two tickets. The cheapest seats. 3rd role of the first balcony. Very pricey, Very worthwhile.

Thanks so much to Jarkko and all those involves in putting this together

Yesterday I got the even better news that my bone marrow was free of leukemia. See http://bkoffman.blogspot.com/

So I have much to celebrate. Life is so sweet.

Got my ticket a few minutes ago. The last time I saw him was 1993, Atlanta, and I seem to remember the ticket was just $35 then, but as a poor person I nearly fell over. On top of that I had to drive 120 miles one way to see him there!

I'm so happy I'm now living in a city that gets some good shows, no more always having to drive to another city, or state, to see someone good. I've never been to the Copley, where LC is playing in San Diego, but the capacity is only just over 2200 people, it should be intimate and wonderful. I'm going alone as my hubby is in the military and is on deployment, and since we haven't been here very long, I don't have friends here who love LC. Maybe alone is better, I might be embarrassingly weepy!

Did anyone get Ticketmaster seats in the Copley Main center orchestra in rows 'A' through 'M'?

All the forum posts so far, including myself who logged on at 10am, were offered Row N and further away.

Is TM saving the front section for general sales?

I'm betting Rows BB through M are of the $253.00 variety and were excluded from this presale.

I'm betting very heavy money you'll see an inordinate number of those seats show up on Ticketbastard's scalping site in the same manner they completely fucked over Bruce Springsteen fans a couple of weeks ago.

There's really no such thing as nosebleeds as that theater. Every seat is good.

Even Nokia's nosebleeds in LA are pretty good, and that's an 8000 seat venue, which is why the cheap seats were cheaper than in SD.

Just a word of warning for people coming in from out of town, or those who live in SD or SoCal but don't go downtown much- I noticed more homeless than usual around the Copley last time I went through to go to the Civic and 4th and B. I know some people will be doing some pre and post show drinking. It's not a dangerous area, but you might have some people hassling you.

Thanks for the alert. After the concert at the Copley, would it be safe to walk to the Best Western Cabrillo Garden Inn on "A" Street?

Yup. You are right. It is after 10pm PT. Fan pre-sale is closed. Ticketmaster is now showing Copley VIP tickets are available at $500 plus each, minimum two. Row A, seats 101-102

Best Western's really close to there and with everyone getting out around the same time. The worst thing I've had to deal with there is parking and getting around road work.

The warning has more to do with going to Gaslamp after the show for drinks because it's not that close, most of the hotels advertise "walking distance to Gaslamp". Most of the restaurants and bars worth going to are going to be closer to where Horton Plaza and Petco Park are at, if you take a look at the San Diego maps.

It's unlikely you're going to be hassled, and it's like any other city, definitely no problems during the daytime, but it's better to give a heads up just in case it happens and not be surprised. I'm going to be going there soon so I'll see how it is lately.

Actually, the $549 tix are the VIP seats that were also available during the presale.

Take a look a ticketsnow.com right after the public onsale.

So, i bought Row N tix at the pre-sale, as they were the "best available".
This morning i logged in and bought the VIP package and got Row A.
Since i can't sell the first set of tickets or give them back to ticketmaster for other fans, i guess i'll be selling them outside the venue for face value.
I hope this works out, because I'm in pretty deep here, financially, and the LA tickets havent even gone on sale yet!
If anyone has any great ideas, please let me know.

Re: Copley Symphony Hall "Will Call" window

I was told it opens at 6 pm. Apparently, that's when TicketMaster arrives with the stuff.

Can anyone confirm this time?
