Time and Fate

(This poem is dedicated to Ben Kelly)
as we try and make our mark in time
where the hell do we place our dot on the line?
time has no reason and has no rhyme
it only beats in this lonley heart of mine
can we slow it down or speed it up?
remain immortal and let the universe take the strain?
and let the moments fall as drops of pouring rain
is gravity God because he has the fame?
time destroys the twisted and the lame
born deformed and with time out of their controll
poor genetic tumbling and the dice that did not make the roll
who decides the eternal intertwining of the time die with the gravity dance?
who decides what is left to chance?
who decides the reciever of the lucky seven combination concieving?
everybody knows that life is for breathing
who can blame us for God percieving
and looking to slow down the speed of light
opening our senses to the dimension of the second sight
and see infared things that go bump in the night
time is ticking it is not living
perhaps the secret's in the giving?
