George's Ladder

One step beyond the ladder
and there were men in linen ascending and decending and did gather
into the cosmos that exists in my grey matter
awakening centres of the iceberg that were frozen shut
and the trolls of my mind that were stuck in a rut
astounded i felt a very sharp tingle
and the hairs on my neck were standing on end
and Pegasus itself was flying into a cup like a friend
into saucerfull of secrets that i thought were gone without end
spilled into my psyche into a psychadellic bend
fairies, elves, tolkiens whole bloody lot
were all heavily motivated and trying to sing
the secret's they sang were in the lord of the ring
and above the whole of this musical discord
there was one who sang the secret chord of the Lord
eternity,magical and frozen into a beautiful fossilized ford
was thrown into there, the personifised silver elusive sword
one step above the ladder..............
