Leonardo da Cohen

Post by taze »

Been lurking around here for ages and finally decided to say hi.

There was a small column titled Leonardo da Cohen in local Uusi Pori newspaper today. I won't try to translate the whole column (written by local reporter Johnny-Kai Forssell), but here are some parts from it.
The columnist says that the clumsy headline tries to characterize a person who's the combination of all intellectuality, art, culture and talents. Then there's some funny stuff about ugly, talented men... blaa... "He doesn't even flinch even though his manager stole five million dollars and he has to play his immortal songs in a concrete-built hockey/sports arena"...
Finally J-K relates a second-hand gossip told by some embassy maid in Montreal to a member of a Finnish diplomat family. The maid's previous job had been for the Great Maestro. One of her tasks was to sit behind the bathroom door while the Maestro was taking a bath. In the bathroom there were about a hundred candles burning and a few bottles of red wine. The Maestro sang while candles burned and red wine was drinken. Once the singing stopped, it was a cue for the maid to come in, because the Maestro had fallen asleep and she had to help him to bed.

"Leonard Cohen on kova jätkä!" Leonard Cohen is a tough guy!
