I woke up this morning ( wednesday ) on another depressing winters day wondering how I can lift my mood when Phil and Fern announced James Taylor would be singing "Suzanne" live on Good Morning . Just the tonic I need one of my heroes from the sixties singing a Leonard Cohen song . So now I am glued to the TV in anticipation . Life isn't all that bad after all

James Taylor played live on Radio 2 here on the Ken Bruce show on Monday.

This link should get you to the 'listen again' iplayer and you'll need to forward through to about 2.02 hours into the show where it is leading up to him singing Suzanne. He does peform other songs before that and Suzanne is the last one he does.

if the above link doesn't work try

and find the link to Mondays show down the right hand side.

Enjoy

Just picked up the album. Yo-Yo Ma, no less, on cello - on Suzanne only. Great, live-sounding album, recorded 'in ten days in deep January in a converted barn in the woods of western Massachusetts'.

The reference to another Suzanne in 'Fire and Rain' (not included) always brings me up short, so this is even more appropriate - for me, at least!

Get the 3-track-longer 'expanded' version if you've got a choice*. (Same price at UK HMV)

* 'Hey, why not ask for more?'
