Leonard deserves his holidays!
I feel that something needs to be said regarding the level of energy and commitment Mr. Cohen extended to his fans over the past months in the concerts he presented --the quality, number, content, etc. I know it has all been said over and over in the various reviews and concert threads, but for myself, I am still overwhelmed that he appeared not to lose energy, but to gain energy, as he continued on his tour. He never stopped working on perfecting the performances, and gave us all, (as has been said many times) one of the best, if not the best concert and for some concerts of our lives. I am sure he might acknowledge that the love he gives is also returned by his fans to him, and that rather than draining him, provides the energy needed to continue his work. I laughed out loud when he came skipping onto the stage in Lisbon--I know quite a few 70 year olds who would not be able to match that level of energy. I don't know many who have engendered the kind of love in their fans that mr. Cohen has. In my opinion, that level of love and energy, must have some kind of spiritual content, although others might have a different frame of reference for that. The day following his concert, we drove to Ciudad Real in Spain, and were met by a colleague of my husband in the company of a teacher from Avila, who convinced us to visit the museum of St Teresa of Avila. Leonard's concert was for me the beginning of something like a spiritual pilgrimage that I had not planned. Things just fell into place and happened in the most natural of ways.

A big thanks and cheer from me too. I was thinking that having completed what must have been an intense and exhausting journey over the past few months, Lenny deserves a round of applause for managing to skip his way through it. He seemed a bit tired by the final gig at the Big Chill - evidenced by the fact temporarily he lost track of which verse he was on midway through one song. I'm very glad he made the journey and remained undimmed by it. I'm sure many are.
