Great interview with Leonard.
Excellent - this is also elsewhere on the forum and I was thinking of highlighting it myself. Can't think of another interview in which Mr C has said as much as here - well worth a look.

For those who can read French, there's another great interview ( also posted elsewhere in this forum) from La Presse newspaper (June 14th):
Leonard Cohen: celui qu’on n’espérait plus

A joy to read, many thanks.
Re: Great interview with Leonard.
An extraordinarily revealing interview - the best I've seen for a long time.
It is interesting to note how little money had to do with Leonard's decision to tour, in contrast with what most of the mass media is reporting. And who came up with that "warm-up dates" thing anyhow?

Thanks Rabbit for posting this great interview.
Forgive my ignorance but what is a 'chop' referred to in it?

I am not a musician but I am pretty sure that a chop is something that you do well as a musician, a kind of virtuoso trick, which as people recognise it as something you did first or mastered particularly well, other musicians refer to us your 'chop' .. Leonard is being, I think, yet again, both humorous and humble, suggesting he only really had one 'chop' and it did not take long for Roscoe Beck to copy and improve on it!!!

Musicians are said to have "chops". It is typical of Leonard's dry humour that he speaks of his "chop".

Check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KpAur9XDgM to hear Leonard Cohen talking about his chops.
Re: Great interview with Leonard.
The duet had a beauty that transcended the personalities. I think Mr. Cohen noticed it, too!

Beautiful clip. Wasn't Julie Felix a BABE?
