Paula - you've just ruined this year's marketing campaign. Breakfast - Irish, Continental, American - is not 'thrown in'. It is served in the William Trevor Room between 7.30 and 9.30. If you require room service (please request the previous evening) a tray can be brought to your room. Even then there will be no 'throw-in' unless you are part of a soccer supporters' group booking, in which case you must remain 2 metres away from the door on delivery and there will be an additional charge (no VAT added) if the tray or its contents makes contact with any of the furnishings. Didn't you read our terms and conditions?

Don't let damellon put you off, I'm told it's not a bad spot though the resident musicians, a band called Diane & the Photographers can be.......loud and late and out of time.
Oh and they only sing "versions" of L Cohen songs!

So is the Dublin gig in the courtyard, I heard it was in the grounds in a marquee. Finding info is a nightmare. The courtyard would be amazing though and I'm lucky enough to have a seat near the front. Just as long as bono's not anywhere near me

Why does everyone feel the need to take the piss out of Bono. He's done some solid work in reducing third world debt. His music I can mostly leave but he has put in the effort where it counts.
That's my little rant for the weekend!

Despite it only being a short hop across the Oirish Sea I never did fancy going to Dublin in June for any of the gigs meself.
The odds for it raining in Dublin in June are far too high for me.

I've just read on another thread that the gigs expected to be held in the courtyard of the old hospital, now the Irish Museum of Modern Art.
Is this correct?
I've walked through that courtyard a number of times and I can't believe that it's going to hold 12000 people, the stage and all sundry equipment.
When the Dublin gigs were first announced I presumed they were going to be held in the big park behind the hospital.
I hope for the fans sake that the gigs are indeed held in the courtyard so as to provide more protection from from driving rain.
Luckily for me both the Manchester Opera House and the O2 arena have roofs.

Courtyard or garden matters not, cant wait either way, waited a lifetime for this gig. If it is outdoor I hope the weather holds out.
Yeah I guess your right bout bono ( like his name better reversed )... He has done some great work for those in need...However, I work with loads of young musicians who have to give up cause they have no equipment, always think people like him could do more. And thats my little weekend rant.

june 2007 was very atypically wet across ireland and the uk. the weather always uncertain in this part of the world but it could be hot and sunny in mid june. let's hope for that

I don't believe it is in the courtyard. It's way too small - it would need 15 story high seating and would be akin to being in the top tier in Croke Park. The garden /field (of happy Mullingar memory) is I understand the site.
The weather forecast for that weekend is for cloud with some rain and highs of 13-16 celsius.

Red Poppy - everybody who has posted up on the forum seems convinced that the concerts are going to be held in the courtyard even to the point of posting up images of the place.
So you agree that the gigs are more likely to held in the park behind, which would be handy for the prison if there is trouble with any wild and drunken goings on.

The rain, or liquid sunshine as the locals call it, has never bothered me on my visits to Dublin as I'm always either sitting in a theatre or a pub.

The thought of sitting in a downpour while trying to listen to LC has no appeal for me whatsoever.

Hopefully a miracle will happen and the sun will shine on all three gigs.
