okay first one, here goes...
"Both Lovers"
you know, it's a wonder
how both lovers
even have themselves any affection to show
oh, it's a wonder
and then Wade winds up courtin' Roe
the closest of friends suffer,
flowers wilt, milk sours,
and broken bread goes stail
the moment when it's one another
both lovers fail
you know, it's a dreamland
for both lovers,
the prettiest knock-out pin-up and her beau,
oh, it's a dreamland
and then she becomes a hideous widow
the strongest of holds weaken,
wallflowers on towers fall
and the fog lifts to unveil
shadows cast by the tree limbs
both lovers did assail
but somehow it's still a wonder
even if only for
a little while longer
it's a wonder
lovers even bother
being together anymore
of the marshmarigolds,
and over four hundred buttercups,
of the two-toned sugar bowls,
and Newfoundlander forget-me-nots
most, if not all,
burst from their rehearsal
as bellringers toll
oh, them virgin's bowers
comfort both lovers
and wherever the clouds have rolled
God colors His flowers,
opening wide every wonderful fold
Both Lovers
