Roses in June

She kissed me and the summer came
She touched me and took away my pain
She gathered in the thorns
That clung to the Roses in June
Her fingers weaving like shadows dancing beneath the moon
Her body shone the light
From which beauty and grace is born
And from the chill of night
A new day will be torn

She wore a dress as pretty as her face
Her smile drew a glance or two
From all who wore silk and lace
And she loved the fragrance of the flowers
Like the smell upon a lovers chest
A heart so pure ‘neath a loving breast

Lonely as the moonlight shines, silent as a lonesome star
Love begins to cal lout to a heart
Still as a whisper in the Fall
