Symbiosis

Were it not
for pain, misery
and uncivil wars
we'd all be devoid
of much good poetry.

Not suggesting
feeling badly
about enjoying
this output
of others' suffering.

Nor conferring
judgement
on codependency
of readers and poets.

But,
an appreciation of
the linkage,
a bond
that is firmer
than the ink
adhering to poetry's pages.
