With Mickey Gone

Post by William »

With Mickey gone,
whose verse to compare with the limping pun?
Not that I did compare
but I do compare
now that he's run.

Hi William, I don't know you and I hardly knew Mickey, but we messaged a little bit after a post of his I really enjoyed. He said something about you either being a charming elderly gentleman, or someone just pretending to be! He also said you ignored a number of friendly messages he sent you. I notice that you seem to miss him a lot and seem to be seeking attention on the forum. I hope someone else can give you what you obviously needed from him!

Yes, I remember Mickey-One -
The poet, because one February
Of chill, dear William brought him to mind
Unguardedly. It was 8.17

Nobody heard him, Mickey-One,
But still he lay moaning:
He was much further out than we thought
And not waving but drowning.
Poor chap, he always loved larking
And now he's gone
It must have been too cold for him his heart gave way,
They said.
Oh, no no no, it was too cold always
(Still the Mickey-One lay moaning)
He was much too far out all his life
And not waving but drowning.

We buried him darkly at dead of night,
the sods with our bayonets turning;
by the struggling moonbeam's misty light
and the lantern dimly burning.

Few and short were the prayers we said,
and we spoke not a word of sorrow.
Just our luck if the hapless sod
turns up again tomorrow.

Lion of Lions,
I am a man of a certain age - an age similar to that of Mr Cohen.
You, however, with your patently braggart name are likely a figure incognito.
I am, more seriously, greatly taken aback that Michael would divulge the contents of Private Messages - answered or no - to a stranger.
Unless of course you are not a stranger but simply Mickey One playing at the second coming.
LION OF LIONS - and you accuse me of seekng attention! Ha! What are you a Disney character in search of some manual animation/stimulation, old chap?
As our private messages have been divulged by one party, I have no hesitation in revealing that I stopped replying because I felt, as I have publicly pointed out elsewhere, that Michael had, as they say, "lost the run of himself" in his drive for pictorial promotion. Fun had turned to fascination with the self.
I have not beaten about the bush. Michael knows the village where I live, what my profession was etc etc.
I am greatly troubled that he would make any element of our private correspondence public. Troubled, surprised and very greatly disappointed.

You are Old, Father William

from this quote "he also said you ignored a number of friendly messages he sent you" you have fantasized that he revealed some of the contents of the messages, from that fantasy you whipped yourself up into a pitch of self-righteousness. Luckily, you were only faking your climax.

so be not "troubled, surprised and very greatly disappointed", be not " greatly taken aback", your grandiosity arises from fabricating that Mickey told me the contents of your messages.

your troll rating by the way, William, is only about 4.5. I read your burst of posts from yesterday evening, your bold CAPITAL LETTERS OF INDIGNATION across the board. did you consider making your character of Leonard's age one with just a little bit of Leonard's style and grace?

the top secrets of your profession and the village where you live remains a secret with Mickey, undivulged to me, so you can breathe safely again!

Lion of Lions, Donkey of Donkeys,
irony is lost, even at this un-ironic size, on the animal kingdom
or so it appears!
I said I was of an age with LC
I did not claim to share anything
of his grace, his music or his money!
Now, let the Lion lie down with Lamb
and try to uncover his own trolling tendencies ;-) .
See you in court .
Lions in the dock should not throw stones!
