Heideggeresque in D Minor
We do not live in time,
We live time. Schumann
Was asked what was
The meaning of a particular
Piece of music. In answer
He played it again. When
He played it
Again,
The music,
The listener,
The composer,
The pianist,
And the space
Where the music was played,
Were not the same
As when it first was played.
The moment
It first was played
Became a memory,
Seasoned in an emotion
That can never be
Recaptured,
Nor relived,
Nor remembered
As it first was heard;
And the repetition
Of that particular piece of music
Becomes marinated
In the emotion
Of the realisation of being moved
By the hearing of it.
But
The being moved
By the hearing of it
Is dependent
Upon the attitude
And the attunement
Of the listener
To the accumulation
Of the hearing of the piece of music
And of the hearing of it,
Or,
The memory of the hearing of it,
Now;
While,
The anticipation
Of hearing the piece of music
Again
Is forever present in the
Now.

Line-breaks cannot turn an essay into a poem. I think that applies here.
