Dear Mr Freud,

Martine's piece was funny, but I must admit that it was rude of me to make the comment I made about you. After all I have hardly ever spoken with you, and you have never been unkind to me. So I apologise for my bad manners. I look forward to reading your poem. I have never written a poem before so I also look forward to reading mine.
