Shane MacGowan is like, must have, if you're in Nick Cave-Tom waits etc world. Always on your horizon. He did show once here, they needed to carry him on to stage at the beginning, and then he was more or less not capable to sing at all. On TV interview he was lying down totally immobilized by drinking, and didn't say one understandable word, although he did talk all the time. Summer in Siam...

You got me Linda  But back to my list, I must repeat that I own only both Alicia Keys' CDs, others I only see / hear on TV / radio. I also have both Norah Jones' CD and both Dido's CD. I know I'm strange. Rest of my collection is Cohen, americana, Cave, Waits, Lucinda Williams, Patti Smith and similar stuff :?

i heard he hated played in the states because people would always chant "bring out the drunk! bring out the drunk!" and obviously nobody would like to hear that. hahaha. but that live album he did in new york is very good.

Tom,

You're not strange. Simply misguided in a few small areas. That's OK though, you have a nice diverse collection.

T -

"Bring out the drunk"? - I don't think I'd want to play to that sort of refrain either! Nonetheless, he seems to be on a lot of peoples' 'must have' lists.

Linda.

Whee! Duke it out guys! I like Van Morrison, I've heard of the Pogues, so I guess, I'll have to find Shane McGowan in there.. you know, I can mediate this heated and merciless debate. So, keep your gloves on.

Oh! Sorry, I'm not in poetry. My mistake. Proceed.

Thanks,
Linda.
