Oh yes....she's baaaaaaaaaaaack!

Well, since I'm unfortunately sitting in Row N this time (hmm, that's 14 rows plus 5 pit rows  ) if I attempted to pelt the stage with Fred's little relatives, I may possibly take out most of Row F since I throw like a "girl". That may not go over well. However, perhaps I'll hit the Dollar Store (oops...Neiman Marcus Monkey Palace) for some of Freds kin and present them to the pit, with instructions! "UNLOAD THE MONKEYS ON THE FIRST CHORD OF "FIRST WE TAKE MANHATTAN"". Fred may take off for the hinterlands. I think he likes his new life :D and may not like competition!

Gawd Mary, you and George would be so much fun up here with all of us! But we understand...Red Rocks awaits! :D

All the best,
Diana

Yes... it really IS too bad that you can't be there with us, Mary... and too dang bad I can't make it to Red Rocks. That is going to be one AWESOME concert!!! Lucky all of you who will be there! Oh, how I wish...

Well Diana, I guess it's back to throwing yourself on the stage. Lizzy, help Diana get herself up there. You guys would be the 'perfect offering'. Just no tearing your blouses off during 'Closing Time', I don't care how much Fred likes it.

Oops, not following the thread  , I hope you all have a wonderful pre/post any kind of meetup!

Best regards,
Mary

Mary, I'm visualizing Lizzy and me at the front of the stage and her attempting to hoist me up and over    It could be a show stopper!

We promise to keep our blouses on! I may just opt for flowers at the stage door...a lot less dangerous! Or several small bouquets for everyone, and a banana for Fred 8) My Leonard tote will be overflowing....

 Funny scene, Mary  . When you're younger, you can run up on the stage. When you get older you have to throw yourself there; or, worse yet, have someone hoist you, so you can fall face down on it  . Oh, the vagaries of aging ;-) .

Diana ~ If you're going to bring a banana for Fred, I suggest you bring two. You know Leonard is going to want one. Since he and Anjani are both huge fans of the fruit, who knows how many converts he's made since being on the road. You may want to just bring a whole bunch... for the bunch. I'll bring my Leonard tote for overflow. Or, maybe since you're bringing the balloons, I'll bring the bananas. Then, we can be aptly be referred to as those fruity airheads.

And Fred... he already has his polka dot blouse... he doesn't need any more; much less from us

NOT on the STAGE, Mary  !!! NO BANANAS on the stage! Oh, my... well, maybe just prior to I'm Your Man, eh? Now, don'tcha just gotta wonder if Leonard would peel it right then and there and strike an album cover pose for us? Mmmm. Maybe we need to give this some more thought. Will ALL first row-ers please PM us... ;-) .

D'ya reckon Fred's a blouse collector, the way some men collect p_ _ _ _ _ s? Oh my... dare we? Wonder what his favourite perfume is? Monkey Musk? I'm Your Monkey, II? Musk of Monkey, Special Edition? Eau de Monkey? [That one's 'specially for Bill's Bar... and all those street folk who think they can enjoy the show and get away without paying up.]

Brainwash Time

go with the bananas - go with the bananas - go with the bananas - go with the bananas - go with the bananas - go with the bananas - go with the bananas....................................

Leonard is imbued with humor - just think of his face as he is presented with this gift!

Warmest regards,
Mary

LOL ~ Well, you're right, of course, Mary  . If no one has heisted our idea before Detroit, heck, we just may, eh, Diana? I don't even know where I'm sitting, yet! Someone did the buying and I'll be reimbursing, and I keep forgetting to ask! I just want to be there! Soooo... Diana, this may be a mission for you. It does sound pretty good, though, doesn't it, Mary  ? [I mean, after all, we wouldn't want them sitting outside the stage door in the hot sun or where someone may just come along and help themselves ;-) .]

As the saying goes here, we are certainly getting off the chain with our ideas :!: . I think we'd have to let it go at one banana, though... if it went onstage. Red Rocks may be the perfect place... unless it's an elevated bandstand, where you'd have to THROW the banana   . "Ready, Aim, AIM, I said AIM!!!, Oh Noooooooo, we're so SORRY, Dino!!!"

 Yes! That's it, Mary  ... Aim for Fred and maybe get it to Leonard! If it actually gets to Fred, have him hand it off to Leonard. By then, they oughta have Fred plenty well trained by then! All he's gotta do is catch it and hand it off. I'm SURE Leonard will be happy to share... all he'll have time for is the first bite and a pose, anyway... or a pose and the first bite... in any case, there'll be plenty left for Fred. And you're so right, Mary... wobbly missiles... just what they need coming at them  .

Maybe attach them to helium balloons, with little messages on the balloons, and blow them over, with our hot air, to the stage :?

His face when he first saw Fred - that was PRICELESS. So I say - bring on the carnival!

To be known as the author of doom and gloom and melancholy for so long and for reviewers to not recognize the underlying humor in so much of his work (come on - 'Don't Go Home With Your Hard-on  ?) has to be oppressive. I love LC first and foremost for the sensuality and humor in his music. The rest is not music of depression, but statement of fact as he sees it.

To have to perform concert after concert, especially in front of an audience in total awe and respect (as we should be) to the point of inhibited response cannot be fulfilling to those on stage. There has to be interactive chemistry between performers and audience. The best concerts I have been to are the ones where people were not afraid to express their feelings - look at the Dublin concert. When these unexpected moments, monkeys, blouses, come up, boy do the performers respond - they light up! They go outside the parameters of the scripted performance and themselves give us those little snippets of spontanaiety and humor.

Enough of the lecture  - Bring on the bananas!   Let's have a carnival and entertain LC as he so lovingly does us!

Warmest regards,
Mary

Well!?! I've just returned from lunch running around... as you can see, I clearly have too much time on my hands at work... got my stuff done early! So, here I am ~ again!

Was deff in the mood for Bananas when I saw them at Publix, so got 4 of them... organic... at which point it occurred to me, that if we give Leonard a banana, it has to be organic. Organics never have the pristine 'eye appeal' of the standard store stuff. Now, add to that if it bounces ~ at all ~ Leonard will be picking up a bruised banana. Are you sure this is a good idea, Mary!?! Your rationale, of course, is worth its weight in gold. So, true... but surely there needs to be parameters. Leonard and his elegance and all. Do you think Bananas might exceed those parameters ;-) ?
