Madison, thnx so much for this translation. Retsina is a greek wine, a white wine, quite cheap (if you do not buy some bottled brand, but get it from the locals).
To me, finding that Marianne was linked to Hydra makes this story so wonderful. Having spent my childhood and adolesence in Greece, and my adult life between New York, Toronto and Europe, I have linked Hydra to lovely images of summer, early or late summer with friends. The place is indeed inspirational (although not my personal favorite greek island). But the fact that it inspired this song, one of my favorite L Cohen songs, makes it dearer...
I am now reading "The favorite Game" by L Cohen, which I absolutely love. Please, write more on how they met in Hydra, please, please, share this story.

[Hoping you're still around.] I have no idea how I missed this latest translation of yours so many months back. Thank you for your efforts in continuing, though. Is there more? Will you continue until you finally finish it, no matter when that might be? I hope so.

Those are some very honourable causes associated with the Protest Festival .

I've just now gotten to see the photos you've posted from the sixties, Sophia . I love that one of Marianne shopping and her face as she looks at Axel . The word nostalgic, once again, applies.
