Andrew I remembered - Rory McGrath

Teratogen - I like the weird eyed man well I did in my youth.

I was always told not to get involved in Black Magic something to do with it being the 8th day of January which is the 8th house and it is the house of death or something like that. Maybe they were winding me up

I am sure someone who is into Astrology will put me right.

Dear all,
I'm not Rory McGrath,or Sean Penn, or James Dean (from another thread).
The picture you see isn't me: it's the man whose shirt I wore when I travelled to Gloucester in October '03 for the L.C. weekend.
Paula wrote "if only I were Andrew". I ask myself "what is this thread all about? "
Linda-Lakeside (the prime cause of all this farrago), mentioned the sex word. Well, I'll tell you this: I employed The Songs of Leonard Cohen ( which no-one else had in my school), for purposes of seduction. It worked.
Using music for those ends.....now that's a G.P.

Hi Andrew,

Sometimes, P is just plain P, no G involved. I had to wonder who would say what if I mentioned that nasty three letter word. Besides, Leonard's music was made for seduction. Other things as well. But still....Dance Me to the End of Love..

Linda.

Btw, that guy whose shirt you borrowed? He looks like a musician. I had a hunch you weren't Sean Penn.

Dear Linda,
I didn't borrow his shirt: we swapped shirts , stripped to the waist on a dancefloor. The "security" guys thought we were squaring up for a fight.
He wanted my shirt and I wanted his.
I wrote a poem about the event.
Shane MacGowan is his name.
In my honest opinion, he's one of the best Irish singer/songwriters.
Andrew.
P.S. I was the only person in my last year in high school to have the Songs of Leonard Cohen. With my Dansette record player, in my bedroom, I entertained several willing partners, all in the cause of poetry and literature and music. It was a pleasure, but I survived; we all did!

I like Alicia Keys. I also like to hear all those R&B / pop girls on the radio and see them on TV, like Ashanti, Christina Milian, even Britney

Also, it sounds as though we (I) should be investigating Shane MacGowan.

A couple of points here (but more to come, no doubt):

TOM SAKIC AND BRITNEY SPEARS :D :D :D
What a delicious revelation!!! They're about the same age too!!!

In reply to Teratogen:
On your first point, I agree.
Re your question, the answer is YES

Andrew,

Looks like (by that blinking purple face) that this is a GP for you still. If a good time was had by all...where's the guilt? Besides, it's Leonard!
Dig deeper! Find some Twisted Sister or The Chipmunks, maybe.

linda: shane macgowan was a member of the band the pogues. they are irish punk music, but, more irish than punk. everyone really thinks of them as a drinking band. sometimes that is true, but not always the case. he has written a lot of very good songs. but i do recommend him and the pogues as well. he also had another band, the popes, after the pogues. i don't know too much about them though. maybe andrew can fill you in. and, linda, TWISTED SISTER, NOT an ounce of guilt in my body, baby. hahaha. '80s hair metal buttrock forever!!

...okay, maybe a little bit of guilt. :P
