Re: Looking for a sign

(Violet) I just woke up in this strange city... it must be one of those rectangular states... I just tried to tidy up that last entry, as usual for your reading pleasure, but immediately got very sleepy... I tried again, and the same thing happened... I guess I'll have to write a poem about that when I get back... who wrote that, by the way?

As to Imaginary Friend, this is not the first time that human frailty has disappointed me. It hurts, yes, but will not deter -- ah rahh ----

Lorca here. I said DO NOT CONTACT HER -- I don't give a #@*&%! if you are a Poppet man -- STICK A SOCK IN IT. Evil is Not Managed Through Human Imperfection (my latest book -- thanks to Violet's inordinate sleeping habits -- due to make the NYTimes bestseller list this fall)... it's managed through vigilance. If we want to take down Cohen it's gonna take a hell uv a lot more vigilance than I've seen in this pathetic joint so wise up. As to R.P., time for a tighter rein, buddy -- the Big Man's pissed...

Alright, I'm outa here. LOTS ta do today --

Imaginary Friend wrote:And certainly, I'm no match for Manna or Cate, and especially not for Manna AND Cate. To put it delicately (ahem), the only thing I've learned from them, is how to scoot from someone who outknew ya.
I hope it was a lesson worth learning.

Lorca here. Look, while you minions are busy quibbling about your hyperbolically minor matters, there's great Evil to be done. I can't be here every minute managing all this nonsense -- where's the Poppet?

Oh, come on -- don't demean me with such servitude. It's time you start thinking of Number One (read my book)...

advice for Vniolet (check spelling or I will thrash you)

Post by mickey_one »

Violet, in an all too rare posting, asked "did Mickey ever get Violet's number" and now mickey-one, for it is he, replies, "oh, I think so, I think so" and offers, gratuitously, the following advice, add an "n" to your name, and live, Girl.

(Lorca): Your esoteric maneuvers are impressive, but it's doubtful they will work here. You may be Number One minion, but you are not HIM, just his nearest mortal representative. Of course, I couldn't point out any of this if I weren't so goddamn insulated! Ha!...

(Lorca) Correction. You're only His nearest mortal representative on this pathetic flee bitten site packed with minions! (You can't imagine the vested higher ups I've come across in His Great One's Inner Sanctum)...

Re: a quick summary of where we currently is

Post by mickey_one »

stop this thread before it descends to someone pointing out that "esoteric" is an anagram of "so erotic" which it isn't, and then another person will add "but it is an anagram of "so eretic" instead, which is like, way Cooler, Man, pass me that joint".

then Violet will finally find the courage to change her name to Violent and we will all start inhaling poppies sold by Veterans, and Red Poppy will then claim copyright, and Cate and Manna will get married to each other. Sadly, they are destined never actually to meet, and the service is conducted by telepathy and overseen by some Cyber Buddhist or other who floats across this Forum.

"How many hot dogs did you eat at the Forum today?", asks Brutus of Julius Ceasar, "et tu, Brute"

where will it end? On the other side, where the grass is cheaper.

I have no name (presently writing an article of anonymity of witnesses, so that solves the mystery of that comment pretty quickly, doesn't it).

(Lorca): This corruption of the canon with something that can only be a phallus-like substitute is unoriginal and not Worthy of you. Why not just blow up the canon altogether? As to my “esoteric” comment, that had to do with “Vniolet” not “Violent.” Most importantly, your thinking Violet is in any way shape or form to do with moi (Violet got that expression from me, by the way) other than as a convenient receptacle chosen for its eretic expression of purity, is just cowardly.

Obviously, you minions are cracking under the pressure. It seems my work here is done. At least for now. Having sufficiently diminished you, you are now onto the next step of my 11 step program (of my former book, currently being reissued) Book of Learning. Time to take some time to reflect on what it would mean to get out of the minors in this derelict division. I will return when I feel you have sufficient need for further diminishment. In the meantime, you know the drill. KEEP VIOLET OUT OF IT!!! And enjoy the rest of your ghastly summers…

.. 2 edits.. I know it's rather late in the day for this, but I meant "canon" not "cannon!!".. there'll be some subsequent edits re: this too..

(Violet, writing in her diary while in her motel room late at night…)

Dear Diary (or God, if he’s disposed to listen to me right now),

I don’t know what’s happening to me. I have these headaches, and I keep waking up in these cheap motel rooms for some reason. I mean, considering my refined taste, you’d think they’d be expensive. My husband is thinking of leaving me. He thinks I’m having an affair. I keep telling him that besides the imaginary one I've got going with Leonard Cohen nothing’s changed. But he doesn’t believe me…

Oh, Leonard, if only you could give me a sign… just one sign, then I’d know that everything is going to be alright…

What was that book Imaginary Friend had mentioned, that time when he was so very kind to me… Fugitive Pieces… hmm I need to find that, along with Book of Longing and Book of Mercy… I wonder if there’s a bookshop around here. Only, I can never seem to get through a book anymore. It’s the strangest thing, but just as I get past a page or two –w h0a wush aaahh –--

(Lorca) Isn’t she a pistol? Can you imagine what it’s like for me? Stick that in your pathetic eretic pipe and twist it, you lousy minions…

[Later (Violet): for some reason I lack the physical power to even do a new reply on this thread. I feel blocked, and am not sure why this is. As to Imaginary Friend and your comments below, it seems I have to re-imagine you. There was something soft and special about you as a man, which is why I liked you... hmm... as to Fugitive Pieces, yes I was aware it was not Leonard's... just free associating I guess (something about that title resonates with me for some reason)... thank you, Imaginary Friend, for being there for me that time I was sobbing (after thinking I'd fallen into Leonard's masterpiece)... (holding back tears) I do hope he will come and save us all soon... aaaghgghgh -- (Lorca): LIGHTS OUT minions!...] [(Violet, with her laptop under her blanket): I keep finding typos on this one... I guess it's too late to be writing... I don't know why I'm just so so tired lately...]

Oops Violet,

Sorry if I'm disappointing you again – I'm a she, not a he. But an imaginary friend is ultimately your own creation, you can imagine me anything you want (except brave, or Leonard)

Just to clarify, Fugitive Pieces is by Anne Michaels, not Leonard. It's beautifully written.

Book of Longing is my fave of LC's poetry that I've read, I think. Humble, humourous and sexy.

On the other hand, your alter ego would probably relish Beautiful Losers if she hasn't already read it...

(Violet, thinking to write a new poem…)

Looking for a sign (No. 2)

I wake up in a cheap motel room and turn on
the local news. Hmm, there’s a [CENSORED]
in the area.

I wake up in another cheap motel room and
turn on the local news. Hmm, some sort of [CENSORED] or
something took out that [CENSORED]…

Oh, Leonard… what does it all mean? If only I had your
inner wisdom right now, maybe then I could understand
all this.

I’m not sure there’s an end to this poem.

08 22 08

(Lorca): Where’s that Mickey Lord Whatsit minion? Isn’t he the one that supposed to be good with words? Clean this mess up [clarification: Lorca is here referring to Violet's poem], you lousy troll -– and I don’t want any mention of all these [CENSORED] ‘n things. Do it, or I can no longer vouch for all of your fates here (it’s been tenuous from the very beginning, after all…) Oh, and by the way, Mr. Imaginary Friend (indeed), as mentioned earlier I am in no way shape or form Violet's alter ego, or anything as predictably Freudian as that. In fact, I'm not technically even a synthetic alter, although I used that description since I thought it would be easier for all of you canon controlled minions to understand (actually, I'm no longer sure why I thought that). No, I am, in actuality, perpetuity, etc., etc., a certified demon attachment, although I soon hope to get my "wings," if you know what I mean, and take over Violet's body and mind in their entirety...

(Lorca again): By the way, I've just informed Popster (on that hugely popular yet blatantly banal thread he's got going) that he'd better get his precious M.O. attachment over here, lest all you petty surfs be pwitty pwitty sorry (take that Poppet, you canary colored dopey eyed demon)...

(Lorca again): As is typical, I did the dirty work myself. [Here Lorca means she's CENSORED Violet's poem.] (Lorca continues): There's always a way when you're draining the will of another...

[With regard to this post, see AUTHOR'S ADDENDUM, 3rd post, pg. 5.]

.. late edit.. as per a few posts back "canon-controlled" NOT "cannon-controlled".. (oy)..
