Now don't get me wrong here folks, because I've given up on watching a TV documentary on jennifer Lopez, in which an American lady commentator said that the reason why Miss Lopez did not enjoy her time in England, (London) was because of the differences in the British and American views on what constitutes success. The lady said that Miss Lopez likes getting lots of money and diamonds, then spending lots of money, and in fact represents the American attitude of celebrating Greed! At that point I switched the Telly off, because I realised that up until then, the programme had done little else but show the greedy side of 'celebrity', and that's sad.

Any bullies can queue up in an orderly fashion (according to size) and vent their spleens on my broken spirit.

I have been faithfully reading your comments and interactions since I first joined the forum last fall. I am amazed by some of the words that have been interchanged between various members, and I must tell you that your sharing reinforces what I have heard over and over again in Leonard's songs - we are "wonderfully human" - we are full of frailities and shortcomings - and it is precisely in recognizing that we will never "get it" that we begin to "get it". Please - all of you - keep being as honest with each other as possible - there is a beauty in doing so that the rest of the world rarely knows. For myself - it is so good to log on and read what is being shared. The friction is a part of our common humanity - it would not be real if there were no tension. We are all, in a very real sense, "reaching for the sky just to surrender". Again - thank you for sharing yourselves.

lechehombre. Refreshingly crisp, clear and succinct. Thanks for the input. A very old colleague (now dead) told me many years ago, when I was still young and immortal, that his view on the trials and tribulations of life and what it throws at you, was to embrace the thought that, "once you know you can't win, you've won". I thought he was daft at the time. But I also thought I was immortal. I got it wrong on both counts.

Thank you, lechehombre and Byron. You have just clarified for me something that Leonard said when asked what the miracle was in Waiting for the Miracle. He said that the miracle was realising that you were waiting for the miracle. Wouldn't you know that with Leonard the explanation would leave you more confused than you started

Yes, lechehombre; and Byron, the gig is up. I received word earlier today that you were part of our annual QA monitoring ~ a plant ~ and I don't mean philodendron. It's a tactic previously unseen at our facility, but I do hope the final report has us meeting your criteria and standards for quality assurance. So, it looks like you'll be going home tomorrow, after all.

Now. I can understand your wanting to have fun while you were here, but I really do expect and hope that you'll do the decent thing and make whatever arrangements are necessary to get our brood out of Toronto and safely back onto their own familiar branches. They are not used to that city air and our [other] patients miss them. Thanking you in advance,

By intelligent contributors, serious and substantive discussion of one of Leonard's songs [The Stranger Song]; and permission by two, well-spoken men [Witty Owl and lechehombre], for our own, personal interpretation[s] of Leonard's [and others'] songs and poetry ~ and the freedom to just be ourselves. Yes, Lizzy, I can confirm Byron's in the cuckoo's nest: first i flew east, then i flew west, then i flew over the cuckoo's nest, and inn-deed: there I saw Byron, seemingly off-duty, worrying about the choice between Draught Guinness and the bottled variant - followed by the flames of Joan of Arc, the smoke curling up above his shoulder.
It's about time he comes out of his almost cat-napped state in order to-run-to the rescue of our kid-napped brood...

Oh what phun we have! Yes, and what a funtastic [fun-taste-ic] day, Red Letters, whole towns painted red, a day so high and wild we'll never need to deal another - before tomorrow, if we choose, of course. Then we'll find that farm! And keep all the animals, especially the cats, warm.

So, Britain didn't fawn all over Ms. Lopez as she'd anticipated, eh Byron? Our celebrities definitely do not tend to be low-key. Those who are also tend to get the long-term respect. Paul Newman [on the male side] amongst many others comes to mind.

I half watch J-Lo yesterday and on GMTV this morning the important news was vented that J-Lo is trying to steal Kylies make up artist. It appears Kylies arse has its own make up artist.

And I thought Fiona Phillips was a hard hitting journalist

lechehombre it is nice to get positive feedback especially when sometimes you feel you have been a bit of a bitch to someone.
