Thank you, thank you, thank you! Jarkko, Marie, AEG, Leonard, Robert and whoever else!

I am just SO happy that my worst fears were unfounded, and I now realize to trust Jarkko completely!

To all who will be in Detroit, we can get back to deciding where to get a bite to eat (earlier!) and then head to the Fox ahead of the non-Forum members! 8) I'm open for anywhere....even Hockeytown shouldn't be too noisy at an earlier hour.

All the best!
Diana

ps...might there be a possibility of certain band members wandering through the lobby? There's always hope Lizzy! ;-)

Well as I said LadyDi. The woman at HTC told me IF I come there in my small group before 5pm there should be no problems getting a table by ourselves.

But if we all "do it up big" we'll need at least 20-30 of us for our own VIP room. And that would have to be booked no later than 4:30pm.

The Detroit Tigers will be out of town that day playing on the road. So the place shouldn't be so crowded. If they were home, Comerica Park is right across the street from The Fox and you'd have Tiger fans at HTC going to and from the game all night. I'm sure there will be some fans there though watching the game on TV for May 9.

We still have plenty of time to sort it all out. I am going to HTC either way though. But if I get enough wanting to join in, then I'll call and try to book the VIP room there at the end of April.

What, Walsh!?! You mean you drive a hard bargain, is that what you're trying to say?? If we go to the Centaur, we won't be seeing you? Oh, dear...

I was surprized to see Leonard play Detroit in the first place, and it sure seems that if Michigan people were here, they'd make themselves known. Perhaps, some Canadians will decide to "Cross Over the Bridge" ;-) and, then, we'd have hopes of 20-30, I'd say.

As plans have progressed, my flight's arrival time is becoming more relevant. It's getting to where dropping my stuff off at my motel and going straight toward the Fox to enjoy food and drink or at least food before going to have refreshments, pre-show, is getting more likely.

Hey, Disdat ~ Very cool that this is your first posting on a Forum. My first was on Leonard's Sony Board. Welcome to our Forum here :D ! You had the right spirit to suggest meeting up somewhere pre-show... that's all that matters 8) .

 Ha, Diana  ~ That hadn't even occurred to me  ! Wouldn't that be a trip ;-) .

Nah I'm not playing hardball. LOL. I can't drive due to a medical condition so my friend takes me and his teen daughter usually goes with us. HTC is more family friendly I think for her, and they both like the food.

Plus where we usually park is a closer walk to there.

Yeah I was surprised LC was coming to Detroit itself too. I thought for his style, for sure he would have played somewhere in Ann Arbor since those venues have been hopping the last couple of years.

But with the way Detroit's economy is, the Mayor is greatful for ANY event that comes there outside of the sports teams season.

Yeah, but what few in Michigan can afford the tickets  ? For the philosophical differences, I'd definitely have expected Ann Arbor over Detroit. Perhaps, a number will come from A2, though. That would be cool. I'm HOPING that a fair number of blacks will turn out for Sharon Robinson. I really don't know how widely she may be marketed through black radio stations. I hope enough to get a good racial mix in the audience. There are entire markets, in my opinion, where Leonard's music is missing out. We'll see how it goes in Detroit.

Ah, well... no problem. I understand your reasons now and they make sense. I know HTC is financially friendlier for me... and I still love its proximity to the Fox. Especially now that we'll all have opportunity to talk and still at least have a drink [if not snacks] at the venue itself, meeting to eat elsewhere becomes less of an issue and simply more pragmatic. Eat cheap and go  . We can, perhaps, go for more exotic afterwards ;-) .

You know all the concerts I've been too it's 90-95% white.

Van Morrison at times I think wishes he was black. LOL. And he had the great Katie Kisson as a back up singer with him once again. All white. Lots of women of all ages which was good to see.

In my area of the suburbs, women are odd. (Maybe another post for another section. lol). No class when it comes to music and pop culture. All rap or country.

It would be nice to meet a woman around my age with the same interests. And she doesn't even have to be that hot. LOL.

Hi Walsh and Lizzy,

Quick note as I know better than to get on the Forum when I should be getting ready for work...sigh. Looks like Hockeytown will be the best bet then for all of us pre-concert. After all these postings we need to meet Walsh! We can meet and visit, grab something to eat, maybe have a drink and then head early to the Fox! Post-concert if anyone wants to sit and chat for a bit then perhaps we could slip into the Centaur, The Town Pump or the Elwood where it will be a little quieter and we can slowly (hah) come down off our high!

All the best,
Diana

Well that's cool. But now I feel like a dictator making the plans.

As time gets closer I can also keep you up to date what the weather will be that day. I'm hoping sunny and in the 70's. But if it's cold and pouring rain all day, for sure you'll want HTC and not the walk anywhere else.

My wife and I have been to Hockeytown twice. Its next door to the Fox. It would be a great place to go before the concert.

Does that mean you and your wife will be coming, too, Pateman? Or, are you simply endorsing it as a good choice? I hope both.

Yes, it'll be good to meet you, Walsh.

Well, it's all about fan dedication! Boy did I need a hot bath after the show, I was still shivering after. I'm really looking forward to my first show at the Fox and of course Leonard!

It will be good to see you both again as well!

Cheers,
