aha! exposed at last! the wicked practice to which you shamelessly refer in public is a top-secret act and you would have to have lived in England for many years to have even heard a whisper of its existence. Americans may indulge in it regularly( probably whilst singing "that's right I've cum to this, isn't a long way down") but Europeans, and especially Englanders, famous for their stiffness, do NOT get involved in this seamy and horrid part of life.che wrote:L
Is this a reference to masterbation?

I am no wiser than you but perhaps we are unfamiliar with this term because we are Europeans.
I’m not sure if it is a reference to your sexualness, about which you seem very open. Many of us envy you that.
There is a rap artist called R.Kelly who has a disc called ‘Double up’. I think he is an American. Here is a part of a review of it - On Double Up, arguably his most sex-crazed, diabolically sleazy CD to date, Kelly grunts like a monkey, envisions a hot and heavy interplanetary romp, and indulges in NC-17-rated rhymes.
I doubt if this is what Lizzy had in mind.

Just came across this thread. Which category does this come under - poetry or music?

Che / Mickey, you are cracking me up.
Lizzy, I too am curious about the 'doubling up'?
In Ireland we are warned against these sort of activities from a very young age. We are warned that if we participate that we will be "ruined" and that we will be left with nothing to offer a partner as we will have used everything up!Europeans, and especially Englanders, famous for their stiffness, do NOT get involved in this seamy and horrid part of life.

Hi Joney ~
Here, some young boys are warned that if they masturbate, they'll go blind. I don't recall young girls getting any warnings; they're rather, instead, somehow given a heavy cloak of guilt to surround it.
The doubling up ended up being a double entendre. I initially intended it, as Damellon surmised, not in the masturbatory sense, but rather as a double identity. However, as soon as I thought&typed the phrase, the visual of doubling over in pain came to me, quickly followed by what would be a confirmation of Che's inquiry. I wondered, geez, will anyone actually 'get' that from it? So, unintentional, it started out; yet, intentionally, got left there, knowing there was a possibility, however remote, that it would be taken that way... especially with 'trolling,' via multiple identities talking to each other, generally being understood as a 'mental' form of it. So, there you have it. Clever ~ or obscene ~ by default.
Of course, a shame that such a source of fame should go under-utilized.
Oh, my.

Lizzy, will you get over it, NOW! you are the only one left in the world who thinks I am Che! The rule for Gentlemen is to admit it if called. I even pm'd you to lay off but you won't, (and didn't reply) meantime it must be a continuing surprise for Che that you don't believe her.lizzytysh wrote: The doubling up ended up being a double entendre. Hi Michael,
Your daughters are both lovely and your son is handsome, but have you taught them how to properly conduct a poetry contest? Why don't we try the old "telephone" poetry contest here and use these winter months to our advantage? I know you know the rules but for everyone else-a mystery person submits a poem and then the moderator forwards it to one of the participants who change it and returns it to the moderator who forwards the changed poem to another participant and so on. The fun is at the end when all of the poems are posted along with a list of all the participants and everyone has fun trying to match up the poems with their authors. What say you? I would agree to be the moderator.
