An interesting new strand is emerging wherein bands sing the praises of Victorian British mechanical ingenuity. It's called 'Steamo'.

Cf The Stephensons' 'Baby, Open up my Master Valve' - already considered a classic.

It hisses!

Deeds quite impossible for Man,
But one prize is beyond his reach:

Hey, what can I say? Though I may not like some kinds of music the least I can do is study them and pinpoint my exact reasons. I don't see this emo thing going any farther than 2 more years. When I was a lot younger I desperately feared for the future of music and society with the saturation of boy bands. They are practically non-existent now. Same went for the nu-metal of the late '90s. I thought those bands were hurting the scene. Some of this stuff I just shake my head at and can't understand the appeal. Because I KNOW there's better stuff out there if this is what kids are into. Oh, you think you're sad and pathetic and you're life is over? Don't listen to this junk... listen to THIS! *hands out records of "Songs of Love and Hate*

You go, guy 8) !! I also love watching the generations pass, as they recognize that they are one who has and that they're looking at the next and the next and the next . . . ;-) . I enjoy your observations on music, and with some wherein I never made a distinction. I thought they were 'all' the 'same' as each other, just more or less appealing. Keep on keepin' on, Jason :D .

I see emo's running around the bush regularly.
I saw some baby emo's just the other day.
All feathers and legs, long neck and big, big brown, inquisitive eyes.

It is almost good, B.M.
Great voices
but shallow delivery by him.

Give them another 10 years
some depth of character
less ego self consciousness
and they will do a magnificent job.

Hi Matj
Granted, he's a comedian and not so serious about the singing (like Paul McDermott who I also love to hear sing).

I enjoyed that, BM, thanks! I like your funny pink emu, too, but I still don't understand the rules of cricket. Paula it was tragic that Rod Hull died like that. I had an emu puppet as a child.

My 15 year-old son (who imo has good taste in music, although not yet LC) informs me that emos are "not cool", even though some of his friends are such. I like Teratogen's usual articulate view on the matter.
