That’s Right, It’s Come To This

Once great he turned to crime,
Should have focused more on naughty bits.
Was it Kelley Lynch or Richard Westin?
Who was it that sucked on the money tits?

“I’ll sell my art, I’ll write new songs,
“I’ll record myself farting on the loo.
“Wait! A better idea than all of that!
“I’ll just steal your money from you!”

“They’ll never suspect me,”
He thought as he donned glasses dark.
“They see a Buddhist monk,
“But I’m as sneaky as a shark.”

Yes, that’s right, it’s come to this,
When you choose the less than trustworthy few.
Now it’s a jug of wine and a pack of fags,
No matter what anyone said, no matter what he’d do.

What a bummer for whoever wrote this even-properly-titled one! Like snatching the crown off the head of the supposed pageant winner and pulling the one who's already walked offstage back on and crowning her, instead  . What a letdown :( . I feel badly for you. You even spelled Kelley's name correctly and brought in the properly-named other party. Some of the lines I could have lived without [you'll never guess which ;-) ], but it was more interesting contrast between the monk and the shark. This was quite the body-oriented poem. Almost as though written by someone already in prison.
