The Music Man

Oh Mickey you were the happy Wanderer,
You came my happy years,
You taught much in life;
Bringing music to my ears.

You joined the Air force Service,
In defence against the Hun,
You were posted tail end Charlie,
You lived to see it through,

You fought Rommel in the Dessert,
Shot down in forty two,
You became a conscientious objector,
When they dropped the little boy,

You deserted in the Sahara,
Hitched rides and stowed away,
Crossing lines of broken cities,
Southhampton wasyour aim.

Arrested boarding for Ireland,
Court-martialled cause for Hiroshima,
You spent time in military zoo;
Finding God .when you found you,

When released you joined the circus
And learned to be a magic clown.
riding unicycle round in cycrles
Trampolining up and down,

You leart to play the old accordeon
From the cymbals to the Cello.
Trumpets, trombones,and the Horn
Oh the world .was yours.,to burn.

You returned to Ireland too Dear Mother,
Taking photos when She died.
Teaching us,That Death was not the ending,
Playing music while she lied,

Marching on her final journey
In oaken locker, with marching band,
Escorted to waited Glory
With The “Dawning of the Day”

You taught us as young children
That deaths just the beginning,
Of a life in Paradise.

You trained us march
Like little soldiers
To laugh, and sing, and dance.

Little Paddys day in Dublin
Where we lead a merry dance,
Red and green.our flying color
Up O’Connell street we pranced.

With our Master walking proudly
way up high upon His stilts
The drums of hearts.of hours.of practise
Our arrival was announced.

It was six of us who started.
in the loft in Drumintee.
where we learned.that you where majic
Bipolar.Just like me..............
