Shag Song

Post by dangermouse »

I have my own favourite Leonard shag song that my boyfriend and I had on repeat for five weekends - A Thousand Kisses Deep (and it was).
What are yours?

This post has looked so lonely so I thought I would give a response.

My favourite is Mandy by Barry Manilow or sometimes Congratulations by Cliff Richard. (I'm only joking) To turn this around though what song is the most off putting? I remember years ago my husband had a tape with a song which I think was called "Give it to me" which went along the lines of, "When I came home last night, you wouldn't make love to me, blah blah, give it to me baby" I know what I would give him...

Anyway, good for you dangermouse, I think replay might get a bit repetative for me, unless it was a real quickie.

What would you give him? Would it be quick and painless?
Interesting to see if there's any response here now you've offered an alternative. Is there a queue forming?
Am I in the minority who doesn't listen to recorded music, preferring to listen to the live sounds around me? Improvisation is more interesting.

Jesus, Lizzy - you scared me there! You must be some typist - I think I only pressed submit and you appeared. Yeh - options low - that's a bugger isn't it? But even with the windows thrown open and 'Various Positions' blaring out into the street - will that increase the options? If this has worked for someone I'd like to hear about it with a detailed set list please. :D

'Various Positions'
 Somehow that's just never occurred to me. Though it seems it might result in making music, rather than listening  . Set list may not be printable.

Yeh... options almost unfathomably low. Bugger, to say the least. Don't even know that I'd want to chance the window thrown open  .

You have to keep taking calculated risks, Lizzy. What's that saying? - opportunity won't come looking for you. Be good, well sorta

Well I'm too much of a lady to really do it, but I would like to give him something quick but painful, I think you can imagine.

Various positions, ha, I never thought of that either, good one.

'Give it to me Baby' is a classic song by Rick James. It came out in 1981. The fact that noone knows it makes me think LC fans have no funk in them.

Not that I am at all comfortable with this line of conversation, but I think 'Fingerprints' and 'Paper-Thin Hotel' are (I would imagine  ) good songs to see one through!!! And I always thought that any pub or club, at closing time, should play 'Don't Go home With Your Hard-On.' Just as a friendly reminder. :) Does that fit the bill Dangermouse?

Strangely, I think almost any one of them would do  (give or take a word or two! ). His music is always so sensuous, his voice so sexy, and he always uses the word 'naked' somewhere!

Hey Anne, I've still got my funk.

Maybe if Leonard Cohen had done a version of "Give it to me" then I wouldn't feel so bad about the song, but really I find that song terrible. I checked it out on YouTube to see if it was really as bad as I remembered. It was, but the video was really funny.

However I like Super Freak.
