Oh demigoddess - sorry for the late hour, but there were signatures to be cross-checked, pregnant chads to be defertilised, rogue votes to be cast aside - my mailbox was overflowing. Anyway on behalf of the Goddesses, Welcome demi. You may now choose a name. Some suggestions - Thetis, lover of Zeus (but aren’t we all?); Seasons, gatekeepers of Olympus; Pandora, incurably curious;, Daphne, turned into a Laurel tree;, Echo, pined away and all that remained was the voice. Mere suggestions, you can name yourself as you wish. To celebrate, you are relieved of gate duties until further notice, even if you take the name Seasons.

Sorry Jimbo - didn't answer your question about Hillary - as with all applicants she must submit in the basque, and indicate the level of her commitment to our project (financial). We could save November for her. Do you think she'll be there at the finish?

Now, for the name of choice. My fingers are tapped out on what you've offered as examples. I'm quite inclined toward Seasons, gatekeeper of Olympus. So, please, if you would, place that one on Hold until I can get beyond the school of barracuda that's taken my Google option hostage. I wanted to check on what Phaedra was up to in her day, but as I'm recalling, there were some unsavory family issues there; and since I had a dear cat that I named after her years ago, before I did a background check [that's become cloudy since then ], that's my only draw to her... plus, well, her name just looks good in print. However, Seasons [if the calendar idea I had at one point about a Fall poem, Winter poem, and Spring poem, in addition to your already-copyrighted Summer poem, should ever come to fruition, well... this demigoddess would just feel right at home amongst those pages. The more I talk about it, in fact... the more I'm inclined. So, I'll be home soon... I have a particular piece of watercraft that navigates rather deftly about those big B schools... so I may even have my answer to you before your bedtime... not that there's a particular rush, of course.

Jimbo ~ I just don't know that Hillary will be willing to show up for dress rehearsal in the manner we're going to require... but please do write her and let us know her answer... and the amount, as ChiGoddess has already made clear. Mandatory issue, you understand. Not to be hard-winged Goddesses, but sometimes you've just got to draw a line in the sky. We really had no choice.

Yeeeesssssssss... and you know how excited he gets when he has messages to deliver... flap flap flap flit flit flit ~ I hope he doesn't get airstream of my having forgotten that he's the male variety to begin with . He's really gotten the impersonation thing down to a mythological science, hasn't he? Next thing we know, he's going to want to burlesque with us . Well, It's a good thing I have the latitude that comes with being a demigoddess, that's all I have to say... this Goddess perfection thing, well... it includes memory and it would simply be too much .

And... fortunately, I had JUST taken my laundry off the line. It has been threatening to rain all day and I didn't want to chance it. NOW, Zeus is up there on one of His [you know how He insists on us capitalizing those H's, no matter the context ] rampages again, so my communication time here will be short [won't Byron be glad ]. I'm going to do a VERY quick research search and be back quite quickly. Seasons is really appealing to me more and more and more and more.

Byron - you can't expect to keep up if you keep taking mini sabbaticals promoting poems for Liverpool, discussing the dubious merits of Daivd Beckham etc! Can't you go back to where you left off and pick up from there? You are mentioned in dispatches en route and are one of the core group for the Calendar project to raise funds for our performance at the Fringe Festival 2008, unless you wish to excuse yourself.

This is getting quite overly complicated. There I was ready to take the test and learned it's a pay-as-you-go arrangement.

Now, I've found lists of so many names and descriptions, I'm feeling downright overwhelmed by it all. Phoebe was another cat of mine... her feline brother was Homer. I'm rather drawn to Phoebe's description, but she was a Titan. Might I have transgressed and left that lot to join you Goddesses... hence, relegated to demigoddess status for now and for ever??

On the other hand, choosing another Goddess's name would well, make for a Snag... because, uhm, well... it's a Goddess's name... and I'm a demigoddess. So... since I can't find the name of "Seasons;" and even though I can find demigods mentioned, I can't find any mention at all of demigoddesses; perhaps, creating a name such as Seasons [did you make that up, or is it just a case of pitiful research?] would be most appropriate! That... or Phoebe, the one alert to the Titans' tricks, having been one herself at one time... hence, immediate recognition of those ridiculous masks making them look dubious.

What do you think, ChiGoddess?? Which way should I go?

Lizzy soon to assume another name, I guarantee you that Seasons are demigoddesses. They are the gatekeepers of Olympus, often in attendance to goddesses, brought clothes and jewels to Aphrodite when she was brought to Cyprus. Seems to have been only 3 of them -
Spring, Summer and Autumn/Winter. (Depicted in Classical Art as The Horae). You could assume the mantle of all three at different times of the year. Must go. Very dark here. Sleep calls. Rest Lizzy.

Okay, that does it! Thank you SO much for taking care of this teensy matter before you took to your bed, ChiGoddess. Seasons is it. You clearly know your Goddesses and DemiGoddesses better than I. With the description you've just given, Seasons sounds sublimely perfect! Forget those Titan tyrants. Let Phoebe stay with them. Summer just happened to intuit those masks.

Bringing clothes and jewels to Aphrodite... perfect, again. I'm already doing similarly with the boas and my own set of Goddesses. Gaggle of goddesses doesn't sound quite right, does it? Group of goddesses... too generic. Set of goddesses... too much like chess [even though we know how much Zeus and Athena love it].

So, thanks to your stellar research or goddessian knowledge [after looking at all those lists, I don't really care which], it's sorted and Seasons it is... all three [incorporative of four]... Guardesse of Olympus .

[Hey... do I have the liberty of inviting someone to this thread? Or, does that require Goddess status? I'm wondering because I just did it... with Linda Lakeside.]

P.S. Oh, dear, Jimbo. The decision's already made. I had no idea on the meaning of Kamikaze. Lovely, in fact. Seasons sounds soft, though, as opposed to that hard k sound... so I think I'll stick with the even more thematically consistent name of Seasons. Thank you so much for your great suggestion, though.

A lot's happened here since my absence due to my house arrest. My car is safely returned but now I have lost my ATM card so will be unable to pay the $505 for Fringe 08.
Would you girls believe me if I told you that I am now being laid off from my job? It has been quite a week.

Sorry about your troubles Christine, I hope things look up soon. In the meantime I have been out to Dan Murphys stocking up our supplies of nectar of the goddesses which will help no end in bolstering our moral and getting us into the mood. Which reminds me, if Misty_blue is turning 21 shouldn't we be hiring a hall and buying a keg?
