later this summer I will write a poem.
Re: Official Announcement
Is this the poem or just a pre-poem appetiser?

Re: Official Announcement
Well, thank you Christine - that's put me right off my prandial - what exactly is that - poetic licence?

Nah, no licenses, licensed or otherwise. "The Big Question," as Red Poppy may not say is, is this the infamous Michael, one worthy of a quick hop? Byron could tell you some stories about ferrets..... and you can see already he has a way with words.
What the hell's a prandial? My brother's coming here Monday, perhaps I should ask him to bring one.

Re: Official Announcement
Mickey_One, what d'you think about changing the word "will" to "shall"?
And will this prandial fit in his suitcase?

Re: Official Announcement
And changing 'this' to 'one' would add an element of wistful longing which might draw in the more procrastinating reader.
I know the work is the thing and some say you should focus on that and not on the artist him/herself BUT Is he wearing a red bra? If so, why? Is he a burlesque artist?

And maybe 'later' to 'suddenly' may please those that yearn to seize the day. It's getting well rounded, I think; may actually be done, what d'you think?: "Suddenly one summer I shall write a poem."
Nice work, Mickey_One!
The red bra, however, remains a mystery.

Re: Official Announcement
Maybe change 'write' to 'dress up as' would be more fitting. So - 'Suddenly one summer I shall dress up as a poem' - a bit surreal, but thought provoking nevertheless. I suppose we have to keep the word 'poem' since that's the thread title.......unless we got Jarrko to move the whole thing to 'Live Performances'. He is a performer, isn't he? Christine - did you mention wigs etc.? What other props does he use? It is a he, isn't it?

Re: Official Announcement
I dunno, Damellon, when you add 'as' (masterful move, by the way), I think leaving 'poem' really takes away from the true intent of the author.
I've heard tell of a ferret..... but can we take that big of a literary risk? Will it work?

Re: Official Announcement
I really think Christine that if we remove 'poem' the integrity of the 'poem' would be irrevocably damaged, maybe fatally. If the author would only reveal his true intent....Is this poem about the disguises we all cloak ourselves in/ a premonition of the arrival, unseen, of old age (suddenly/later), the need for change but the universal hesitancy that accompanies such a need? the possibilities are limitless... The more I think of it, the more I'm inclined to consider it a fine piece of work. Bravo Mickey_One. What do you think Christine? Dangermouse - you're studying English Lit - any (non sexual, non fashion related) thoughts?

Re: Official Announcement
Manna - welcome! Nice touch to reintroduce the burlesque theme. If the poet intends to market the photograph and the poem together as one unit, then your edit is inspired!
