an honest man
poor honesty that comes to being
only when it can be checked
and lies would lead to quick detection
to pain and trouble while the truth
is nothing but a last refuge
for times you feel too closely watched.
what kind of trust do you expect
from me when you behave like this?
and why do you complain about
me following your every move
with zeal? i'd rather be surprised
that someone still is by your side
and finds it worth to check the lies
you sell as truths and wallows in
the marred and mired words you say
to look for reasons to believe
against all facts against the odds
that there are pearls beneath the dirt
while everybody sees it is
poor honesty that you present
a sudden truth when lies would be
detected soon. what kind of trust
do you expect? you know you are
not honest just a clever liar.

Hi Tom ~
This poem speaks well to how some people deal with the issues of truth and honesty. When the lie balances on the edge of discovery, and the truth surfaces, trust becomes more tentative. These truths that spill forth often have a notable difference in energy. At least this is how I've seen this kind of dynamic play out.
