Just a short note -- we are still in Warsaw. The concert was really
wonderful - I believe the transmission did not include the two last songs (Whither Thou Goest, the duet with Leonard, and Nightingale as the encore). Both Anjani and Leonard had bad flu but it did not sound in their voices. After a delicious buffet dinner the winners and Polish webmasters had chance to meet with Leonard and Anjani shortly and get their books and records signed (and there was a VERY long line! :P ). Leonard and Anjani were perfect hosts!

After the concert a group of some 20 Cohenites went to a Czech pub to discuss this wonderful night.

We have some photos shot before and after the concert, but if you were there and have nice shots please send them to me. We will post some on The Files shortly.

Jarkko, I did hear Whither Thou Goest and a part of Nightingale before it abruptly finished - this was then followed by a number of LC's recorded tracks. 8)

Cheers :)

Yes, I was very happy to hear "Whither Thou Goest" and in Anjani's first "fare theeeee welllll... " it cut out, and I think it was on her ascending "theeeeeeee" that I lost contact. I'm glad it wasn't just me. Did Leonard join in on that one, at all? The way I'm reading what you've written, he didn't.

I'm REALLY looking forward to the write-ups and photos!!

Well who can blame him, my head is spinning with all these excited reports from all over Europe. It's Monday, this must be Oslo is it?

Thank you people, I am really enjoying this and now I don't feel so isolated way over here.

Don't you have any Chinese restaurants in Croatia?

Believe me - both Poles and Czechs love beer - that's why we have
some Czech pubs in Poland.
Additionally - many Poles love Czech humor:

Hi Mirek ~

I've not commented over there, so that your report can be continuous. Really fine work in reporting to us, Mirek. I noticed when Leonard thanked Marek and with your names so similar, wondered Wouldn't that be something if Mirek had gotten to introduce him?"

I love the way you've described Leonard and Anjani's interaction. I SO hope that Anjani's "Nightingale" is on this recording.

You're right on how beautiful were the things that Leonard said to the people in Warsaw. I felt that as I was listening to all of you on Polskie Radio. Thank you for your reports, Mirek. Looking forward to Part 2.

We have. I myself prefer the Cuban:-) But really, having Czech pub in Poland is like going to French cafe in Belgium. If I were in Poland, I'd like to be subdued to Polish food, drink, beer, music, films, poetry, and women... When in Rome...
