It's 4:00 PM in Poland, and I'm listening to what sounds like the News... not Anjani :? .

******************

:D :D :D OH!! I just heard " . . . Leonard Cohen . . . " :D :D ~ We're getting WARM!!! Now, I need to hear " . . . Anjani . . . " and then Anjani's VOICE ~ and, then, all will be well :D :D :D !!!

*******************

OHHH!!!! I'm getting goosebumps all over!!! Anjani is singing "Thanks for the Dance" at 9:09 AM [my computer clock time]!!! My eyes are tearing... I love this! I'm hearing Anjani on the radio from POLAND!! It's happening!!! My own world has once again expanded exponentially!!! She's singing it all the way through... :D

Oh, how my world has been forever changed by Leonard and Anjani... in succession and together. Thank you so much you two.

*******************

... and here is the promised surprize for the Polski Radio listeners ~ Leonard's deep and resounding words and voice 8) .

ARRRRrrrrrggghhhhh... my connection got lost just after Leonard had clarified about musicians, with luck being required, as well... and that, if some aren't making money at it, they are discouraged from practicing. STOP!!! ...

By the time I got connection established again, I heard the interviewer thank them for coming, and Anjani laugh, and then Leonard saying something, just before Anjani sang "Blue Alert" ~ which I'm listening to right now [several pauses within it to continue buffering].

PLEASE someone ~ Make my day 8) and say that you recorded this interview :D !!

I've just listened to the whole concert: simply AWESOME...SO moving!!! Leonard's intro was particularly poignant and it was just a magical experience to have, even though I wasn't even there!!! :D

It was also well worth disrupting my sleep for!!!

Cheers :)

I was right there until the first "Farethee well... " and my broadband cut out  . I'm wondering if that was, indeed, the last song. It took me give-or-take 20 minutes to get back up... and, of course, all is over. However, when I reconnected to the station, they're playing the pre-show songs by Leonard, from old albums.

So, Jack, I'm seeing "mp3" at the end of your link ~ does that mean you recorded it!?! I guess maybe it's the station's link. Hopefully, they did the same with the concert. I had seen the others earlier, but I see they've now added ones from the concert to it. This bodes well for a recording of the concert, itself, to appear later, as well .

OH! I've just clicked on the interview link ~ it looks like you DID record the interview yourself?? Did you record the concert, as well??

I'm feeling very privileged to have listened to the concert Live... and now await the reports of our friends who saw it in person, as well. I could certainly give my own, but will wait for them to write theirs [unless others here begin commenting... and, then, I will, too  ].

Thank you, Pawel, for calling me twice... each time Leonard accompanied Anjani. I was also really happy to be able to call and speak with you and Justyna in the park where all of you were hanging out... having ice cream [?] before the show... and to Mirek [thank you for calling back, per my request, so I could speak with you, too], right after you folks left the pub to go to the show.

Now, I hope for this really beautiful and touching performance to be recorded somewhere, so I can hear the ending of it. Those in Warsaw were so fortunate!

That was just the interview. I did not hear the concert. I don't know if they will make a poscast of it. I am finally listening to the station but too late.

Oh, darn... it was wonderful, too, Jack. I heard it up until the last song. No interruptions, at all, till that point... and then it was GONE. I'm wondering if Leonard ended up joining in on it, as well.

Yes... I got it straightened out [in my head  ] that it was the interview only. I initially took it to be the concert itself. I'm so pleased to be able to now hear what I missed of the interview. I'm hearing as I listen that what I missed was worthwhile.

Ah. Okay. Well, thank you for posting it, anyway. This still makes me even more hopeful that the concert will reappear.

Hopefully, at this very minute, our friends are meeting Leonard and Anjani... saying a few words... getting photos... obtaining signatures. Many kindnesses.

I keep checking back for possible links to the concert.

It seems that Polskie Radio is devoting a lot of its airtime today/tonight [there] to Leonard's songs. There's a woman singing "Hallelujah" right now... someone who is not sounding familiar to me, yet I can't figure out how to figure out who she is! There are echoes and overlays of herself that follow her own voice... and some very nearly avant-garde jazz, musical arrangements as part of the bridge. Anyone know?

If I knew Polish, I'd know... cuz they're talking about it right now. It seems that I heard one of them say "Blue Note" ~ so that's likely a clue.

This station sure plays interesting music. I heard "Kiss Kiss Kiss" by Yoko Ono earlier [this morning]. Now, there's a woman singing a jazzy-blues song in English. Is this Warsaw's public radio station?

I really appreciated all those photos on Polskie Radio... showing how they were situated in the studio for the interview, and then at the concert. Beautiful handwriting... they both have beautiful handwriting. Lovely messages left on the wall for those to follow. I wonder why it is that every single, little detail is so appreciated... do they bring us closer to the event itself. I'm guessing that in some way, yes, it must.

Pawel called me after the concert and said that everyone got to meet and talk with Leonard and Anjani, and got photos and signatures, and that they were all still just too excited to give reports, but that they would. I can imagine. For now, they were on their way to a bar to have a drink. Can you imagine  ?

Anyone who was as moved as I was by this Warsaw concert [and for those who weren't able to listen to it, as well] may want to tide themselves over [until we get some direct feedback from those who were actually there] with this video from Anjani's site of "Thanks for the Dance," with Leonard and her dancing elegantly in an equally elegant setting... Leonard in black suit, white shirt, and black bowtie... Anjani in cream-coloured satin dress... http://www.leonardcohen.com/DearHeather/index.cgi ~ scroll down to where you'll find it at 4+ minutes long. You'll find a contented Leonard swaying to the music at the end.

You'll find still more of a contented and happily-swaying Leonard, and hear how he feels about Anjani's creations using the raw materials of his work, at Anjani's site http://www.anjani-music.com/news.html on the News page. Just click on the "Hi" or "Low" button beneath the paragraph about "Making of Blue Alert." You'll see clearly how much faith Leonard has in Anjani, and why this album, and these promotional performances and upcoming tour of Anjani's are so important to them.

These are also very interesting clips for newcomers here... it can be easy to get caught up in coming to the Forum and miss out on some really wonderful material on these two people.

I was grateful for my privacy today as I listened to the Warsaw concert and cried as I heard the beautiful renderings of "Half the Perfect World" and "Thanks for the Dance." To think of all the people out there who are missing these two classic love songs.

Thank you for the recorded interview link Jack.
It was so interesting, particularly the question about Leonard's effect on Polish politics back in 1985. Wow, the power of music.
