2. Democracy
3. Never Any Good
4. Elvis' Rolls Royce
5. Eclipse
6. Born To Lose
7. Silent All These Years (w. Tori Amos)
8. The Great Event

This is of course fake "promo".

I was thinking to mention Eclipse, that's Leonard's appearance on Charles Mingus tribute CD produced by Hal Willner. Leonard only whispers in the background on the track.
"Weird Nightmare - Meditations on Mingus" (1992)
A tribute album, with many guest artists, to the memory of Charles Mingus. Cohen reads the poem "Chill of death" with Mingus's music in the back/foreground. This strange and exacting album has been produced by Hal Willner. Columbia CK 52739.

There's No Reason is improvisation from BBC Sessions in 1968, it's on bootleg Leonard Cohen at the Beeb.

I bumped few times on that Tori Amos track, but I never heard that LC appears on it (I don't have it on various "rare" CDs I received over the years, and nobody ever mentioned it.). I'd like to be illuminated about that track, finally.

It's on The Files: http://www.leonardcohenfiles.com/poems3.html - More Poetry on Records section.
Poem (1993/1994)
A recent version of the poem "Poem" was recorded on December 3, 1993 for KCRW-FM and was included in the compilation album "Rare On Air, Volume One" (Mammoth MR0074-2, released in 1994).

Cohen's poem is used as the prelude to the live songs on this album, featuring several artist from Tori Amos (Silent All These Years) to David Wilcox (Chet Baker's Unsung Swan Song)
Of course, "Poem" is widely circulated on all Cohen "rare" CDs so I don't think he sings with Tori Amos.

Following the logic of this fake promo, democracy is probably the recitation with musical background, from 1996 United States of Poetry. It's also available on Master Poems and various "rare" compilaitons circulation around. It's online at the official site: http://www.worldofpoetry.org/usop/dream6.htm

Well, according to many online sources, Leonard indeed appeared on live version of Tori's hit single for that KCRW compilation.

Live performances and previously unreleased songs don't count for the type of CD that I am talking about.

Is Chill of Death something that Leonard wrote? Was it written specifically for this Mingus project? Did Mingus write it? Where is it from originally?

My understanding is that Chill of Death was written by Mingus, and recited by Leonard in a tribute to Charlie. It's quite chilling in itself, isn't it... he captured the proper tone and timbre in his voice for it.

It's just hard to leave us, isn't it Roy  .

Leonard never recorded Priests. He states in an interview that the song was outside his vocal range so he was happy to give it to Judy Collins. I do not remember which interview it was.

But talking of interviews, and this is relevant to this thread, does anyone remember an interview that Leonard gave for UK music paper Sounds in the early 1970s? I would like to read that again. I remember Leonard talking about a batch of great songs that he wrote in a log cabin somewhere but subsequently lost.

I would like to see 'Whither thou goest, I will go' on a compilation album. I know Leonard didn't exactly write the words, but could he lay claim to the tune? In any case, there are recordings of some beautiful renditions of it around. I'm sure one of them would be good enough quality to go on a CD.
