a line at a time

Post by Pete »

I've just had a thought :o
About 3 years ago we tried something in the chatroom which everyone present at the time found enjoyable and rewarding. Some had to be persuaded but the outcome was worth the effort , although the evidence has long been lost and legend has taken a hold.
"What is he talking about?" you ask.

I'm talking about that evening when a poem was composed a line at a time, each line written by each chatroomer ( although it was hilarious when someone forgot the order or when someone suddenly arrived and said "Hi all, what's happening?" just after line 4  )

It might just work here or it might not... but it's worth trying.

Only one line per forum member is allowed and it really doesn't matter if you do not normally write prose.. and it doesn't matter if it doesn't rhyme
and it doesn't matter if it turns out to be rubbish.
Wouldn't it be great if everyone contributed :)
The next post will be my contribution as the first line.
If there are any comments about this please start a separate thread (in comments and questions?) rather than interuppt the flow here.
presuming the flow flows :)

That's it folks.
(Jo, hope you don't mind me slightly modifying your line :) )

What a work of art :D
What depths of poetry we have dug
Apologies to the hundreds of you who tried to send in your lines but could not get through due to the busy lines. :(

I do actually have a poem which starts with my first line but have not been 100% happy with and thus have not posted. There is something about it which I can't put my finger on but I'll post it anyway.
