Trespass
The stores are all closed
There’s nowhere to go
The sun hides behind the mist
As the wind blows around in swirling twists
My footprints trail behind my shoes
As I walk across the beach
I feel you close to me
But I know you’re out of reach
The loneliness of the coming night
Steals away my mind
The darkness of my deserted thoughts
Are the only thoughts I find
It’s all right
I say, beneath the shadow of a broken sail
To feel this way tonight
I can hide my soul inside a ragged veil
Where the lights of the city refuse to shine
Memories wind into my sight
The spaces you left behind
Are the places I want to find
Time comes, if only for to pass
Your image stands clear, upright next to me
You’ll never be far away
For into my heart, your heart, can always trespass
