So here I am in Taipei, Taiwan. I live here, an ex-pat. So my friend picks me up in his car, radio on ( in Mandarin) music plays, ears perk up.
Damn it's Leonard Cohen!! Suzanne, unfortunately they called it Susan!
a few minutes of conversation then " Bird on a wire" Lastly Boogie Nights.
We arrived where we were going and I was really sorry to get out.
It looks like there must be fans of L. C. in Taiwan.. It was so surreal!
Anyway I'm rambling but thought other fans might be interested in my little adventure.
Thanks.

I think one would be surprised to find that ones favorit music is played
so many places around the world.
If i was in Taiwan i also would be surprised to hear LC on the radio.
But our world has become so universal now with easy access to
different types of media so music is spread widely.
Have heard that "western"music is quite popular in Japan but don't
know if it's true.

Welcome to the Forum, Ron
... I know very well the thrill you're speaking of ~ and here I am in the U.S.!! I can only imagine how it must have been for you, being in Taipei
! Thanks for sharing your splendid experience... a shame you had to get out of the car. It sounds like there may have been more songs to come
.
