Ok, please, let me share my opinions with you.
I would like to explain why I decided not to come to NY.
And, but it’s my personal opinion, Field Commander Cohen wouldn’t come himself.

Everytime I see tv, I cannot go on.
It’s real, it’s not a trailer.
With today it’s 9 days of no-water for 2 million of people of Bassora.
Thanks to the alliance bombs.
Today one of the English captain said:
“Ok, we had understimate the resistance in Bassora,
and now we cannot help people there”...
Yes, I know what happened on September 2001, the 11th, but I also remember Chile, September 1974, the 11th.

Angry is not a reasonable reaction, and war is so a childly expression.
Dialogue and relationship are for growned-up, people or nations.
There is no Peace without Justice and Dignity for everyone.
The two puppets talk about the post war…
“I will build… you will bring oil home”
Oh, such a respectable topic!
They decide from their confortable sites.
Living, breathing, feeling seem to mean nothing more.
Unless, not for everyone.
An emissary cynically says that
America has not gone to war without something in return….

“when hatred with his package comes,
you forbid delivery”

Well, I don’t want to see America now.
My enthusiasm and my happiness have gone away, in the eyes of too many children that die, in their body or, worse, in their soul, for a lifetime.
I love Italy, I’m fashinated by Germany, I like America spirit…
but would you reach Sicily it there were mafia shooting over there? Would you have liked to go to Berlin right after Hitler era?
Would you go to the house of some killer?

I love America… but not now.

1. This is no place for political ranting, go join Demetrius on the Newsgroup.
2. Please try to write in English. Those numbers may be alright in whatever language you normally use, but they really mess up English.
3. Maybe you would be better off deleting this kind of thing Jarkko rather than my Cohen related comments

welcome to the Forum.

I like the text you presented, though I cannot agree to your conclusion. Like many boycotts in the past the wrong people will be victims of this.

Just a hint: Maybe you should change the code page of your system before posting, because in the most widely used systems some of your characters come over as code numbers, which really is irritating.

partisan,

this is free speech country, and definitely it's not the place to scare newcomers off the way you just did.

Talking about which postings should be deleted: If possible, none; if necessary those which, without any real reason, insult others.

In the poetry section there is masses of political debate on one thread (a thread I only read at the moment as I cannot post without upsetting people there)

I really don't see what the problem is with political debate as so many of LCs tracks have a political feeling (just to name a few Democracy, Anthem, First We Take Manhattan, Jazz Police, The Old Revolution, The Partisan,.....)

JTS (BTW the #87334 is really not a good idea)

Welcome to the Forum. Even though your post did have to do with the 2004 Event, what I would like to see you do is copy and paste your entire post here to the Poetry Section's "hell bent on war" thread, where it has a whole lot of relevance. I hope you'll consider it.

Tom, I will post without those mistakes next time, I have seen them and I am with you. John, thank for the company of the heart. Partisan, I prefer dialogue and relationship to war.
Friends, let us grow up together, even there and thanks to Leonard heart, regardless of our own age, because sometimes light break us unespected. Your point of view should I share, for my eyes will be bigger than yesterday.

JTS, I can feel with you. None of us can post there without upsetting. But you're lucky - you can post in other threads without creating an upset. Some of us can't even do that.

How green our valleys could be, if it weren't for the war...

Antropos, The Americans you will find in 2004 at the Manhattan Cohen event are not the one who drop the bombs or who made the war or who profit from the war, rather ones you would be more likely to find at a protest march, or like yourself, writing letters or poems of opposition to the war. You will find there are American people of conscience, music and poetry lovers, writers, intellectuals, aesthetes, humanitarians, spiritual seekers-- in short, people like the ones who contribute to this forum. Unfortunately, we do not rule the country but we do attend cultural events. Your boycott of the Cohen Event will not stop the war or change America but will deprive you of a potentially valuable and enjoyable experience.
