Orange Blossom

I've just bought the wonderful debut album by a band called Orange Blossom. "Everythig Must Change" is an up-tempo, vivacious blend of Arabic and Western styles, incorporating traditional style Arab singing, blues, rap, strings and sampling. This may all sound like a multiple RTA on the Highway of Music, but it works very well, not least because of the very strong female vocalist.

It's available in the UK; I'm not sure about otherwhere.

Sounds interesting, as well as good . Perhaps, if we can 'merge and blend' our musical forms, we might one day do better in 'merging and blending' ourselves. [Before there are any 'purist' uprisings, this is not to say that we become homogeneous .]
