A few recent poems I've written

Post by Liisa »

A recent trip to Paris and major changes in my relationships made me write again, I've noticed that before; when I am most happiest and things are going well I don't write a lot, but when I feel sad and/or anxious, the words start to fill my head...

Oh and a short introduction: I'm Liisa, 33 years old, a Finnish theater-, literature-, music- and movie-enthusiastic, nice to meet you all.

Poem #1

I stand on stage, alone
Even the guys of lights and sound are gone
The winds attack me from all directions

The Flying Dutch roams on every ocean
Never finding a peaceful harbour

Please come back, please!
There's no life after death,
Seems like no life before death either,
Just glimpses of it, like fast and colourful TV-ads

Poem #2

The Backseat Madonna

Play lady, play,
the clouds ain't cream
and death is not a dream.
Play lady, play.

Dim light from the car radio,
a girl sits on a backseat
without a smile, without any expressions

How could I tell you
That all the clocks have sold their times?

Almost a haiku, poem number 3

I was walking on a street yesterday
A car passed me by
I thought I saw someone waving at me
But it was just a happy dog's tail

There's a theme of urgency, on living life while you have it and appreciating every detail, that moves through your poems here, Liisa. I like them a lot. The second one reminds me of a Salvador Dali painting. Perhaps, the clocks... but the idea of clocks having sold their time. The poem... period... just an other-worldly sense about it. Very interesting images. Would make a great, non-Salvador Dali painting 8) .

Of course, I too wish you much happiness. Michael's wish is merely a selfish one for more interesting poetry from you :) .

I rarely write when I am unhappy. I did for awhile but the mind is such a power house that I tended to wallow in " head-up-my-arse-eosus ".
I love the image/mistake of the happy dog waving at you. Very Zen!
Ha! a kaon for sure.
What a fantastic moment! What a fantastic line!
I am still smiling as I place myself in your shoes!
Liisa, that is Poetry!!!
