Yes, call me one-sided. Nobody's perfect.
I am aware of the plight of the ordinary Iraqi people. I am aware of the BBC website and the information it carries.
Are we to create a similar plight for the ordinary Iranian people as well?
And then who will be next?

"Bipolar is a roller-coaster ride without a seat belt. One day you're flying with the fireworks; for the next month you're being scraped off the trolley" I said that.
On a slightly different note here is one regal Miss Iraq: and of course I hope things work out for her

This is for anyone who cares to read on.........
I am of an age, which means that I remember a certain few days and nights some years ago.
Nowadays those times are called the 'Cuba Crisis.'
What did it actually mean for those of us who lived through that period?
Utter terror.
Not knowing if the nuclear-carrying-missile in Russia, that had my city's name on it, was on its way.
We were told we'd have a 4 minute warning. ( What the hell was the use of that ! )
We were given instructions about how to protect ouselves. ( More useless information ! )
We knew that we could be vaporised at any moment.
There was absolutely nothing we could do about it.
I returned to school on the Monday morning, following the 'arrangement' made between JFK and Kruschev, to be greeted by a very happy Form Master. Those of us who were conscious of how close we had come to the total destruction of this planet, saw our world in a different light. That viewpoint has never left me.
The details of the 'arrangement' were not released for many years. What we now know is that both men 'saved face' in their respective societies. Two groups of powerful men had taken us to the brink of annihilation.
I am not discussing who was right and who was wrong. I am telling you what it was like. Whatever the reasons for finding ouselves in abject terror, we were terrified. It wasn't some Playstation Game. It was real, it was actual, it was almost out of control.
Please, before anyone starts thinking the unthinkable and musing upon the efficiency of a nuclear attack on Iran, consider this...
The effects on the region would render that area desolate for thousands of years. The fallout would be blown hither and thither and be out of anyone's control. The planet would have a 'cloud' worse than Chernobyl. Where it went, no-one could stop it.
The middle east would erupt into all out war between Arabs and Jews. Between the west and the moslems. What would follow would be as nasty, horrible, gut wrenching, blood curdling, vomit making, as you could never imagine.
Life as we know it today, would be gone. Remember your worst nightmare and multiply it.
Some people in power have already discussed the nuclear option. ( On both sides )
I repeat, this is not a computer game we're considering, but what is actually happening, behind closed doors.
If I'm to be seen as being one-sided, then so be it. But I'll tell you this, I, and many others, have seen over the other side, and we know what life is like when a few powerful men get together and play at being God. Which brings me to the obvious point of reference. The Bush administration and the Iranian administration, pray to the same God. So whose God do you want to follow into oblivion?
It's Good Friday tomorrow. Heaven help us. We've reached the stage where the nuclear option is being discussed in this Forum. Doesn't that simple fact open eyes and ears just a little bit? Turn on your TV set and watch 'experts' assessing the pros and cons of available 'options'. How on Earth did we get to this stage? I know, and so do some others in this Forum, who saw this coming just a few years ago.
Go ahead. Call me one-sided. I write what I see, and I too am shit-scared,
again.

I'm not sure to whom this was addressed, Kush... if it was me, I wasn't thinking of myself. I was thinking of the Iranian people, in addition to the thousands of Iraqi people already killed, clearly by things other than the bird flu.you need to worry about nuclear fallout...you're gonna die of bird flu
