Poem K:
You Once Said
A heart is like a flower
If you break it you can never put it back together.
I could never break your heart.

Well, just getting around to reading all these poems, this one really touched me
What a wonderful nice thing to say to a woman, to show how kind considerate and caring you are.......But, has he dumped her, after giving three years to this man who promised her marriage, family, security. Did she learn to cook the food he likes, adjust to his customs? Did she support him and encourage him that he could reach his dreams in the country he chose to call home?? Does this poem remind her of a promise he once made. When she reads this love letter does she laugh like a crazy woman and being her rant.
I am very suprised this was submitted. There was a mix up with the contest. I heard about it the day the poems were due, so i looked at the thread and wrote something based on the topics that were first chosen. Then learnt that the subject had changed. At the last minute I sent this off to Lizzy. Yes, it was something a man once said to me. Next time I hope I read about the contest sooner, I promise it will be an original idea.
But really, what a nice thing to say, I remember how I felt when he said these words, in a seedy bar on Bloor Street West. He told me his mother taught him this. His mother is the reason our relationship ended. Hey!!!! Alanis Morisette is that irony???
