AH! That's OUR FORUM! Poems are beginning to arrive... some lovely, some touching, some funny... just like the guests at any soiree! It is so cool that we have such an actively-participatory group here... contributing daily, joining in on the competitions, niggling back and forth, discussing, commenting, planning, sharing, whatever... just so cool!

Thank you to everyone who's putting their words on the line 8) .

Love,
Lizzy :D

Yes. BTW, will all the entries be posted after the contest?

Yes, they will be, Nightstalker... it will be up to the writer of each one to 'claim' theirs openly. We always leave that option up to them. I hope everyone does 8) .

For the record, I asked Liz to hang onto ALL the poems till after the deadline. This way I will not have been reading/sleeping with some poems longer than others.

On the short story contest, the group of us who were judging inquired 'who' wrote the winning story (from the interthingy) after a winner was picked. This time, I will not know (will not inquire) whose poem won. I will leave it up to everyone to claim their piece, even the winner.

The winner will have to step up so their name can be attached to their poem that will be published in the Berlin booklet. Others can remain anonymous if that is what they wish, although I can't remember a time when someone did not claim their piece, eventually.

Look forward to reading the entries.

thx,
Laurie

Might I suggest that a couple of runner-up poems also be mentioned and considered for inclusion in the Berlin Event booklet? There are usually a number of excellent entries in these competitions.

Hi Margaret~

The plan is to determine a First - Second - Third place, so that is not a problem. (Just like we did with the short story contest).

You'll have to run your suggestion by Henning who is in charge of printing up the booklet. I think it is a good idea, but have no idea the space constraints he is most likely dealing with. It really would be great if the top three could be included.

Laurie, what is the subject for the poetry comp. you are currently running, and is there a formal deadline or is it just any time before Berlin?

Michael, you have until 4.00am British time to send your poem(s) via p.m. to Lizzy with a subject/topic of old love letters.

oh, heck. is it too late to change the title? I am really not keen on this. I suggest "what I did on my holidays" or "a trip to the dentist"

well, I am sorry you say that as I thought I would have another few hours yet and it is really not my fault that the poem is not going through to Lizzie because her inbox is full.
