I have uploaded a very rare recording of “Suzanne” by Flery Dantonaki here:

Recordings by Dantonaki are anyway rare and precious as this great Greek singer
(in my opinion the greatest of all) has a very limited amount of recordings during her short career as she was suffering from very serious psychological problems and finally cancer.

However you can read below why this specific recording is even more rare.

This CD was released in 2000 but includes covers of 20 years ago, with the rare voice of Flery Dantonaki. In 1980, the singer had begun to be closed in her own self, to avoid meeting other artists and – more importantly – to record songs. It was the insistence of the great composer Manos Hatzjidakis (then director of ERA Third Programme) that brought her in January and in April 1980 in the studio C of Greek Broadcasting Corporation, in order to record two recitals for the radio (a third, with songs by Manos Hatzjidakis has not been found yet in the vast archive of ERA) with a manly foreign repertory (20 anglophone and four Greek songs).
The first of the two recitals went on air on 20th January 1980 but the second was never broadcasted as Manos Hatzidakis aim was not so the broadcasting of the recordings as their realisation, so that he could find an excuse to help financially the singer.
In the meantime the two "precious " tapes were found somewhere among the 120.000 recordings in ERA’s archive, covered with dust and they are published in a CD 20 years later in order to reveal perhaps the most improvisational moment of precious, fragile and … voice of Flery Dantonaki.
