Do you think Tim's failure to pick up the conversation's tone was due to a genuine lack of social aptitude, or do you think he unconsciously held a deep personal resentment towards you that broke through his otherwise water-tight defences? By writing that Tim might choose not to stir unnecessarily you are strongly suggesting that he deliberately chose to evoke disruption. You are calling him a mischief-maker - an agitator. And I don't think that's a very nice thing to do.

I agree that acting like a mischief-maker is not a very nice thing to do but you should treat Tim's intervention as harmless. I appreciate that you realised my post was insulating Tim, protecting him from the harsher responses, that he perhaps deserved, by getting my mild criticism in first.

Geoffers, when did Jarkko lift the ban on you, imposed for the obscenity you posted on another one of the forums?

Thanks for 'protecting' me Michael, how condescending of you. If this ever occurs to you again, please don't bother.

Just to be clear (to the forum in general) my complaint is not that I find 'Paula_hansen' unfunny, it's that I find her creation deeply offensive. Now, I may be wrong here and she might be a real person with deeply-held religious beliefs, but I don't think so. Now she may or may not offend my personal beliefs (which are mine and none of anyone else's business), but this parody of a fundamentalist Christian is, to me, no laughing matter. If I've got angry, it's because of 'her' and the responses 'she' provokes - 'Trolling' is a term that is over-used of posters that you don't like, but I think 'paula_hansen' truly does belong in this category.

Neither is it a question of me mis-judging the tone of this thread, more that I don't care for it, and didn't want to sit on the sidelines in mute acquiesence with it. People may find 'paula_hansen' original and funny, I point out that 'she' is certainly not the former, and I at least don't find her the latter. Whether anyone agrees with me is their business, not mine.

I don't think that they are the same person. Snow is pretty intelligent, whereas YDF is pretty thick. They both turn up at the same time because they are both stirrers. Snow is a more interesting stirrer who is sometimes a decent and humorous writer. YDF is the kid at school who stands on the edge of the playground shouting "fight, fight" and is a particularly dull writer.

Tim,

Mickey is Paula Hansen and Donna M. and too many others to even mention. Everybody on the forum knows he has a galloping case of MPD.

Terat,

I sure Snow is highly offended with you. Can't you tell the difference between us. It is the opinion of the forumites that Snow's prose "soars". Mine just grubs along on the ground.

It may grub along the ground, but it made me laugh more often than any others.

Linda.

PS: Oh, geez. By just the simple fact that Michael is denying any liability, I'm going to have to re-think this. Who's Donna M? OH, an ineffective attempt at a trollish palindrome for Madonna?

Sorry, YdF, it seems I'm addressing all posts in my initial post to you. Sorry, can't find the delete button, so, you'll just have to live with this one.

Hi Linda, the beauty of these places is the variety of opinion and taste. If we all thought Geoffrey was our favourite writer it would be dull. I find YDF one of the very poorest writers here, but not by a straight comparison of all the posters but more as a measure of his failure compared to his own ego as I read it.

Also, as I have said before, he is just a one-trick pony and has wasted a fabulous idea. I can't control who gets good ideas but to give one to a person who doesn't have the talent to use it is criminal!

btw I am not Donna M.

Hiya Mikey,

I can't help but feel that somehow, somewhere, there is someone who is 'fleshed out', but they're wearing your shoes and underwear. I just haven't found out who yet. Or have I? Why do I even ask, because I know you won't tell me. But so what? Here's to the good, the bad, and the balding.

See ya,

Linda.

I am all 3 of those!

I don't mind someone wearing my underwear but give me back my shoes!
