i love this song. It expresses themes i seem to have wrestled with. And i see a duality. Like it seems like everybody knows what is wrong but are afraid they might lose whatever so-called security they think they have. And it is hopeful to me as well to know that i am not alone in my thinking that hearts must change. Also may i suggest all responses be posted here instead of email so we can all see it?

everybody knows is simple one of the bests songs from cohen..

it just amazes me how true the song is.. "the poor stay poor.. the rich get rich."
and.. it's the same with the rest of the lyrics.. its a song that subscribes this world.... lies... war...rich&poor... etc. etc. :(
its sad... and it's great i love it

(too bad i can't play it too much.. my mother get's depressed if i do :) )

also a nice example for how depressing the truth can be !

heh, you sound pretty interesting your self. You are probably the youngest around here. And i say for me study was important but not for legal tender, my head instead. The road is always awaiting you and contrary to what many believe it's probably gonna be trodded by groups of feet once again.

hmm...
i'm not interesting yet... heh.. my life is boring :)
except for that i've accomplished quite some things with music..
and no.. i don't make music myself.. but.. i love music
and i have contact with some international famous bands..
that rocks :)

1 of them invited me to join them when they are going to tour
so.. i might do that "once i finished my study"

i just.. wanna leave here.. but i don't wanna neglect my study.. it's too important

hey.. tell me... to what places have you been
i mean.. in 10 years on the road.. you must have seen some pretty cool things...

Your just restless and i know the feeling! i got out the Army in 93' and traveled from San Antonio, TX (Fort Sam Houston) to Savannah, GA, cool town and Tybee Island rocks. Then i headed west it took me a long time but i finally ended up in Portland, OR and someone saved my life. A lot of bad things happened but for every thing bad something way better kept happening from it. i am healthy and happy and i will probably never move again. It's wierd but right when i got turned on to LC a peace and a acceptance came over me that made me realize i was finally home and any more unneccessary traveling would just be running. And i ain't running anymore.

BUT the road still goes on forever and the party still never ends.

One time in Sierra Blanca, Texas i saw an railway boxcar that had turned into an oven.

One time in New Orleans i fell in love.

One time in Twin Rocks, Oregon i lived by the Pacific Ocean for a long time with a friend. I miss her and that place in a good way.

hmmm

sounds like quite an adventure :)

my plan :

when i'm done with my study i wanna go to florida (boca raton)
just to see how it all is there... one of the bands i know (morissonpoe) has their "home base" there..
so.. she singer already said i could stay at her place..

i think after that.. i 'll go to NY, i wanna see some things there.. new york city... and rochester

then i'll prolly go to PA , 2 things i wanna do there..
first of all... visit YORK the city is the homebase from LIVE.. a band i REALLY love... just wanna see some things there.. like Otter Creek..
and... more things they had songs about

and Rochester, PA... in that city lives a girl which is like a sister to me
i wanna visit her..

and then i might go to CA.. just.. to see things.. the environment.. and stuff like that

after the touring i'd prolly go search for a place to stay.. and for a good job

Come to Asheville, NC! It's the freak capitol of the southeast. People don't think that's true but it is. I never expected to find a place like this in NC. California sucks is my opinion but evrywhere esle sounds good. The west coast is best in the north part to me. Vancouver, B.C. really is my fav place to visit.

hehe
anyway.. i wanna live somewhere where it's not crowded

i don't like being in the middle of the city or something similiar..
i'd rather be in a very peacefull town without much people

just.. somewhere quiet...
but i don't think those places still excist in this world :(
