(I wrote this for a friend who recently lost his wife
of many years)
Close your eyes my love and come with me
Through the magic of your mind
As I hold your hand and take you
To a different place and time
When there was beauty and laughter all around
We had no cares not a care not even a frown
Remember running barefoot through the meadows
Laughing in the rain
We were enchanted by the colors
When the misty Rainbows came
As children we held hands even way back then
As we were growing up you were always my best friend
We've traveled life together now for almost 60 years
We've had our ups and downs and we've shed some tears
Open your eyes love and kiss me one more time before I go
To the final Mystery of Life, one we all must know
We'll hold hands again, I know we'll find a way
As we were in life, I'll only be... a few Heartbeats away
