BBC RADIO 2

Post by colin »

For those who can receive, let me point out that BBC Radio 2 are broadcasting a major two-part series where Bob Harris looks beneath the surface to discover the reasons for the emergence of a unique, creative and dynamic government-funded Canadian music scene.

Mr. Cohen features very heavily. There are interviews.

Check out the BBC Radio 2 website.

I believe that following the broadcast on the radio, some BBC programmes are available to listen to again for a few days via the website.

Cheers

Colin
Hope that's useful folks!

The CBC has always been a unique and dynamic radio/TV harbour in the storm. From NHL hockey, when we were just kids, to live debate and in-depth reporting. Not to mention their very savvy craft of pulling the 'right' song out at the 'right' time.

Yes. Methinks we Canadians love the CBC like the Americans love NPR and who could forget the BBC?

Thanks for the mention.

There is a lot of archival material on LC in the CBC (alphabet soup, again)
The CBC probably has the most accurate archive on LC around. But, I'm biased. :D I did quick re-think, and I came up with the conclusion that this very site, is probably the most LC accurate of all.

Thanks, Colin! I would have missed it if you hadn't posted. :D
Only just found this video of LC:

I was bit disappointed with it. actually. I mean, it was interesting :) and I enjoyed listening to some songs I hadn't heard in years; but there was nothing of Cohen's. And only one very brief interview with him - I think it took less than two minutes. :(

Hi Linda ~

Yes, our NPR/PRI is your CBC and Britain's BBC equivalent. Aren't they wonderful? The level and depth of coverage are amazing. This always astounds me, too....how they snippet songs at the end of various coverages and segments. The producers'[?] choices always seem to, musically, emotionally underscore their essence.

True :D 8) ~ but, then, Jarkko doesn't do broadcasts :P ~ yet  .
