hello, I send pm to john k but it still in my outbox a days later. is his one full? not fair if can't send, maybe an email for his? can you be check this and get backwards to me please? I hope not alot of people are having this problem.

Janj, I have no idea why your outbox is showing what it was. After getting numerous entries my pm box is only 34% full. I haven't been on the computer due to family priorities, but am here now and your entry is received.

Well, I may have been misunderstanding this all of this time. However, for a long time, I was confused by the Outbox/Sent box ~ as they seemed to duplicate in meaning.

I finally decided that one was for when you generated a PM on your own; and the other was when you answered a PM that someone else had generated. Then, I thought, maybe one is just an 'overflow' container for the other. I never considered that it rested there, until it was finally, officially sent and/or received. Something that has gone to the Outbox has still remained there, long after the other person received it, so I still feel it's one of the two things I've finally decided it must be.

I don't care, really, as long as they're still there when I want them ~ which they have been.

John K. I have a question. I am trying to finish my story but probably won't finish (due to work) until very near the deadline at midnight tonight Pacific Time. Are you in the Pacific time zone too. I would hope that you are. Otherwise you are going to have a late bed-time.

I will try to finish as early as possible.

John K. is in the Eastern time zone. (3 hours later than Pacific).

Let's just keep it honest.

John does not need to stay up till 3am to check his PM's.

Send it before 12:01 am on the 11th.
He can then retrieve your story in the morning.
Just keep it honest.

Besides IF someone did send their story in truly late, the Short Story Competition Gods would be very angry and there is no telling what they might do. It would be out of my hands at that point. However, if you did try to get away with sending it in late, and you live near any volcanoes (active or dormant), I'd suggest you move...

janj, I may be sounding like YdF here (actually I won't be because this reply will be worded kindly), but you may want to take this experience for growth. You worry alot. As a result, and because I don't sit at my PC 24/7 waiting for PM's, you worried the entire board and I received and had to deal with PM's from most every person that entered, and now I fear this will do it again.

Thanks for the reply John and Laurie and the work you are doing.

What I am concerned about is that I can send my story to John on time (before 12:01 Midnight Pacific Time). It will sit in my out box. When he checks his message box the next day the story will have the date and time stamp when he retrieves it. WHich would make the story appear to be late when it really isn't.

For Lizzytysh. When you generate a PM it goes to your OutBox and stays there until the receiver logs in and checks for his/her private messages. The PM then goes to your Send Box and stays there until you delete it.

Like I said previously:

Just keep it honest. No worries.
We are not a government agency, just trying to have a friendly contest.

John can retrieve in the morning any stories sent to his PM after he has gone to bed.

If it was sent in knowingly late by the author, then they have to live with that (and the wrath of the ShortStoryGods).
